The obligatory PC vs. XBOX thread...

What dude - I played street fighter when I was a little KID when they were 20c at the arcades. why would anyone pay R650 for street fighter, only with "better" graphics? Madness i tell you.

No thanks...pass..

Fighting games have moved on from Street Fighter...there are more in depth games now that allow for more tactical (read: thinking) playing than pure button mashing and even with Street Fighter you tend to forget, or oblivious to, the fact that button mashing never got you anywhere in a fighting game.

AMEN KAGE!

imho, fighting games are the only reaosn I would ever splash the cash on the xbox - since the xbox has tekken now. though... intelligent button mashing (assuming you know the basic mechanics) are a staple of the genre... dont diss the old skool :P

if they brought out tekken for the pc - then i really would be a complete pc fanboi and diss you console kiddies - but ill hold my tongue :D

I have no problem with old skool, I loved it! note: I used the word "loveD" - c'mon guys - havent you grown up since strret fighter? maybe try some cool games for a change.
google "mirror's edge".

My Fav fighting game was Killer Instinct - now that required you to know the game's mechanics...extensively!

hey man, i still play some of the older games like street fighter (and various other arcade goodies) from time to time with mates. they are still great "party games". nothing beats tekken though - well for now. though soul calibur is great. killer instinct was cool, but i always preffered samurai showdown :D

the one with the green goblin guy going "ha-ki-ki-ki-ki-ki-ki--ki-ki!" while rolling on the floor?

it is the same game ....... it's just getting released later than the PC version ;)

No its not. Go and follow the BioWare forums. The mods there have on more than one occasion said its not. As far as they( the people working on the game is concerned) Origins is pc only.

Here is what Scot Meadows a senior programmer on DA had to say on 5 September.

There is no contradictory information from us, just other sites and other people spreading rumors.

We are focusing on making a PC game, Where the franchise goes from there is still yet to be determined.

You could have used one of the existing threads to ask this in as well, instead of creating a new one.

thx

Chris Priestly community communications coordinator on 16 July.

I'll post here what I posted in the other threads already discussing this (it's like no one takes a look around before posting nowadays).

Much of this is being made of Greg's comments, but it really hasn't change anything. Dragon Age: Origins is for the PC. It is possible we may make a console version of a Dragon Age game sometime in the future.

Dragon Age: Origins is still being made for the PC. If a console version gets made some time later down the road after that, it doesn't change the PC version of Dragon Age: Origins.

Dragon Age: Origins will be out for the PC first (since it is the only one being worked on atm). As I said, a console version is possible after that, but we'll have to wait and see what happens.

i'm not wasting my time on a p1ss console for 3 year olds, or the waaaay overpriced ps3.

i'd rather have an X-box over those thanks!

there is a x-box vs ps3 thread iirc, but no mention of wii vs anything (too weak to even talk about...)

I'm gonna take a screenshot of this quote, adorn it with all kinds of fancy Corel (not photoshop) effects, frame it in a golden frame and put it on a pedestal right by my front door.

but then here is what Dan Tudge had to say -

and BioWare's Dan Tudge has confirmed just that to Eurogamer. "Yes. Dragon Age: Origins will be coming to consoles in the near future, yes," said Tudge, adding that the console version should be arriving in late 2009 following the PC release earlier in the year.
..... so who the fsck does one believe

rather print it on a huge poster and add it to your roof - then I can find you on Google Earth and know which house to sneak into, and quietly pour water into the xbox vents.

the next day you would probably bump this thread saying "My xbox just stopped working, it sucks ass" and I can frame THAT quote, and never tell the truth!

or not..... :p

the guy behind the till at incredible corruption.

I'm sorry those people are complete idiots...

5 September - run into Incredible connection, trying to get Spore.
Me - Hi do you have spore yet?
Idjit - Ummm...you mean Creature Spore?
Me - ...
Idjit - It's not out yet...
Me - Its released today...
Idjit - Oh sorry we have not received it...

Got the thing at a dodgy Reggies down the road!
