The Official Ashes 2013 Thread - ENG vs AUS

Mitchell Johnson is bowling himself back into the test team.
The way he is troubling trott, fast and accurate and he is getting movement.

7.05pm: Match abandoned, that's it, shake your fist at the skies, we're done. The umpires and the groundsman have, probably quite sensibly, concluded that it there's not snowball's chance of getting the ground fixed up, if and when the rain does eventually stop, and have sent everyone home. Thanks for keeping us company as we mugged our way through the last three-and-a-half hours or so - we'll be back for more rain delays and fantasy cricket from Cardiff on Saturday. B-bye now!

Remind me why they bother to play cricket in England? :wtf:

Exacl. Raining throughout the year. Champions trophy a typical example where the winner was decided in a 20 over match.

Are we going to reboot this thread or will there be a new one for England in Australia?

I shall be watching the match later if I can find enough things to do to keep me busy for the next 1h 10 mins

Stuard Broad comes on to bowl the second over and the stadium erupts into boos and other chants

First ball to Waner massive no ball and pulled for 4

Supersport's broadcast is breaking up a bit.

ahhaha bye bye aussie. I have a feeling this is going to be a walk for England.

Australia 104/5 (36.2 ov)

Australia are in trouble here, they were doing okay but the second session was really poor from their perspective, 4 wickets for 82.

England well on top.

this partnership needs to continue for another 70 runs to give Aus a chance...

hmmm, If Aus manage to creep closer to 300, they might give their bowlers something to work with.

currently on 265/8. 2 overs before close of play.

Good recovery. Johnson normally bowls well when he scores runs :erm:

Poms need to get their a$$es handed on a plate :D

The poms crumbled this morning. Losing 6 wickets for 9 runs. For a moment I thought the Aussies were playing Pakistan, lol.
Johnson bowled fast in that spell.

Yoh, Johnson was generating some serious pace out there. Absolutely brilliant hostile fast bowling.
