Wicket please!

Take a bow, McT

Harris to Trott, OUT, short ball, Trott pulls and gets it all wrong, there's a man at deep square leg and he takes a comfortable catch. Trott suckered in and gets a top edge on a pull stroke and from serene progress, England are back in trouble, Trott has given it away, he just hurried a little, tried to paddle it and put it a long way up in the air

IJL Trott c Khawaja b Harris 58 (87b 11x4 0x6) SR: 66.66

127/4

Fek, I think I should offer my leg spin to SA - looks like international batsmen still don't know how to play against a leggie

Bresnan to Watson, OUT, Bresnan strikes! He has Watson lbw in the last over before lunch! Great ball, angled in and Watson moved across with the front pad and missed the ball, he's rapped right in front and Dharmasena gives it lbw. Watson chats for a while with Rogers and eventually makes the decision to review it. It's a poor decision because that was plumb. That's not how to use the review system

SR Watson lbw b Bresnan 30 (42b 6x4 0x6) SR: 71.42

Swann to Rogers, OUT, what on earth has happened here? He's missed a full toss and been hit in front ... Erasmus raises a finger and England have another, though both batsman and bowler are shaking their heads! This is like the tactic of bowling a slow full toss on Brian Lara Cricket, though there was no intent on Swann's part. The ball slipped out of the hand and Rogers was slow to sight it, missed swinging across the line and got hit on the box, I think... in front of middle and leg, though Rogers was probably anxious not to lose the second review. Hawk-Eye shows, however, that it would have missed leg stump! This is a rum old dismissal on many levels

CJL Rogers lbw b Swann 15 (45b 0x4 0x6) SR: 33.33

Bresnan to Hughes, OUT, Hughes throws his hands at a wide one, very loose shot from a new batsman, there's a limp sort of appeal, particularly from Bresnan but it's immediately upheld by Dharmasena! Hughes reviews without hesitation, so he must be pretty confident he didn't hit it... So, let's see if there's evidence to overturn the decision. Hot Spot is pretty inconclusive, maybe a faint mark, there was a sound on the audio and Tony Hill decides there's not enough proof to overrule Dharmasena to the decision stands - Australia have lost 3 for 11!

PJ Hughes c †Prior b Bresnan 1 (8b 0x4 0x6) SR: 12.50

And URDS is there to overturn the howlers ... like Broad's nick to the slips in the first test.

Australia's woes with technology continues and any howlers from here on out cannot be challenged.

This has to be the worst Ashes series ever. Not to mention it's painfully one-sided  What is the point of watching this series when you know it's near impossible for the crappy Oz team to win a single match.

Here's GB, who's not with the robots: "DRS needs to be pulled until these inconsistencies can be addressed. Shame to have a series spoilt by it. Does the D in DRS stand for 'Dubious'?"

And here's RDM: "I wish people would stop whinging about the UDRS. Watson should not have reviewed and Rogers should have. Just because of bad decisions by the players doesn't make the system bad. We live in an imperfect world and occasionally mistakes are made. Jo has no valid point. If Erasmus thought it was out and you don't agree, review it - that's what it is there for. Whine, whine, whine. The UDRS is much better than the days when there was absolutely no recourse against some pretty shocking decisions."

"@GB - how on earth is the series being spoiled by the DRS?" thunders Shane. "No conclusive evidence to over-turn a decision, you don't over-turn it. Easy. I think the DRS is becoming a bit of a scapegoat for some players' poor performances."

"After watching all this drama, I am thinking of putting together content for my first book - DRS for Dummies. What do you think the market for this will be Australia?" Kahrithik is from India and he is giving Australians stick about DRS. This is how bad it's got

Some of the chirps re the UDRS :)

This is serious trouble now for Australia. They still need 71 runs to avoid the follow on. Ashton Agar is at No.8 again. Australia need something special from him yet again.

@Dark, agreed. It is a pitiful performance from the Aussies.

And if you thought that their A side in Zim would be getting good batting practice, check out some of these woeful scores:
