Well, then feel free to Google away.

For those of you to lazy to Google or who want to get a general idea of what you would be able to see.

Close to what you'll see through the telescope with your own eyes:
Saturn
Jupiter
Mars
Jupiter and Moons (6" scope)

Processed and stacked images:
Saturn
Jupiter

So that should give you guys an idea of what to expect. Even if they aren't my own images.

Sheezus! That's awesome, can see why u guys spend all that money.:cool:

How does a star really look? I've tried googling for photo's, but I don't find anything that really shows me, or it looks "generated"?

I'd like to have a telescope, but I don't have money ;) :D :p

Look at the sun. With special precautions tho. Then you know what a star looks like. The shiny stars in the night sky are all suns existing or long time goners.

These were taken using a 12" SC with a 3.3 focal reducer and a MEADE DSI astro camera.

Okie dokes :)

BTW, I'm going to purchase a 8-24mm zoom eyepiece from you soon :)
I figure they will be useful when I'm viewing nebulae.

yes, some pics of mars will be in order, please.
I actually tried tonight.. But by the time it was dark enough to see anything decent mars was too low down... It will be a while again before any of us can take anything worth while :( Unless Astrogeek has anything saved that is :D

I've got one or two photo's I've been able to take of the moon though where you think WOW... then you work at the details and realise that the little 3mm crater on your screen is 10km across... and you suddenly feel really small again

Unless my Starry Night software is out of whack it seems that there will be another Io shadow transit over Jupiter tonight.

It should be visible from around 22:00 - 24:00.

Io is one of the moons of Jupiter. When Io moves between Jupiter and the sun, you get to see Io's shadow move across the surface of Jupiter, which is called an Io Shadow transit.

As can be seen from this screen shot in Starry Night.
