The game crashes even more regularly after the patch for me.It was mainly the audio loop crash where the audio loops, and the game hangs, and I have to go into task manager and kill the task. Now it crashes quite regularly just before respawning, saying battlefield 4 process has terminated.
I had the same crashes on a different Windows 8 install with different graphics drivers and software, I reinstalled my whole computer with Windows 8.1 with updates drivers. I redownloaded the whole game, and have nothing installed except for the game, and what it requires (pb, directx, nvidia drivers). The crashes were exactly the same across both these installs.
Instead of being all that angry, I just wonder why it is that the EA Dice team does not properly test patches before sending it out. Why could they not run 20 computers with a variety of different hardware, and software setups (for instance different o/s's etc), and let 20 guys for a minimum wage play test the game, running crash analyzers to pinpoint errors.People would probably do this for free to sort out the game) They could then replicate the errors on certain computers, and work on the specific code required to fix the most common errors. They can also play test smaller patches that specifically target the code at fault, before releasing it.
This should not be all that difficult. They should also make feedback from the public in the beginning of the release much easier, and open. This is their first line of communication, and troubleshooting.
The game is worth R500.00 since it is much better the COD Ghosts, and will make for a great game once all the crap has been sorted. Most software has problems when it arrives on the shelves. They just need to work on it efficiently. I wonder if it is not a lack of proper leadership, since they do not seem to make it any easier for themselves.
Hope it gets fixed soon. The game is really amazing without the crashes.
