The official Battlefield 4 thread

Simple answer yes! It takes time to learn this game. You will come across some okes who have played 1000+ hours. I am sitting on around 300 atm, and only now feeling like am getting "good" at multiplayer. As for the "pellet gun" issue. The first guns you get when playing Assault class for example is pretty bad ass. Like the M14 the second unlock for that class, I am running it right now as I am playing for the master dogtag (500 kills) for that weapon and it really is amazing. As for the rest spend some time on battlelog and have a look at the different ways to unlock the weapons. Also LevelCap on Youtube does a pretty good breakdown of all the weapons. That is a pretty good place to start.

Thanks bru. Will check it out.

Guys I am building my new pc tomorow, and will be purchasing bf4, should I buy the premium bundle? Also, how many of you guys play comfortably with a 2meg line. Im with mweb 2 mbps uncapped and im looking at playing local mweb servers. On the site it says that 4 meg is needed? Couple of months ago I was playing BF3 online on my friends xbox 360 with a 1meg before they upgraded the lines ovcourse.

Hi There

Ok so firstly congratz on the new machine :) so buying premium... A lot of people have different opinions on this, I would honestly say if you have the cash to spend do it. You get all the maps + the premium content not a bad deal. I might be wrong on this one as I cannot check right now, but im pretty sure BF4+ premium is ons sale on Origin at the moment. As for the line I am not sure, I play on a 4mb line, but im pretty sure a 2mb will do as long as your ping is good you should be fine. As for downloading the 50+gig expansion might take some time lol.

You'll be perfectly fine with even a 1MB line. I've played on 1, 2, and 4Mbps lines and there's really no difference. It's not about the throughput as much as it is about the latency. In layman's terms: you want small packets to travel quickly, you're not worried about a "wide" stream of data like you would be when streaming video. You'll probably need to let your BF4 updates run through the night though.

I bought premium on special; while the extra maps are nice, most people still play the standard game only and a lot of the servers dedicated to expansions are often empty. I do love playing expansion maps when there are plenty of people online, though.

What will be a good GPU to use for BF4, I need a new GPU so what can I look in the mid range that will be enough to play the game on normal or high graphics settings?

AMD or Nvidia preference?

I have Favorited some servers that are pretty full most of the time, i can send you a screencap of them if you like?

I tend to play HC, so as far as expansions go, I mostly frequent BMW2, Operation Askari and Geezers.

A lot of people have abandoned BF4 and reverted to BF3. Maybe wait a while in case they fix it.

I would say there are still a couple of people playing, a couple more than BF3 infact

Awesome! Thanks bud

Anyone that can recommend some good local Operation metro servers ? Currently have 1 in america that I can play on that allows higher pings but would prefer not to play with pings around 160 - 200.

@ joncoh101 - Im playing on 2 mb line no problems just hope you latency is ok.

Got mine here

Still need the base game though.

Awesome man, how would I know if my latency will be good or bad? Also, In the past i have had **** with port forwarding. Will I need to do this? And how... on....earth.. does one do that lol. I have never gotten it right

I got premium from prepaid gamer. And pre ordered the disc for the original game from kalahari.

Haven't played in over 3 months though :/

You can get a rough estimate of your latency by pining mweb.com. Since i think they are the ones who host the servers.

Ive seen guys getting close to 5ms pings :| i get in the range of 30 - 40ms but i am in a very outlying area and sorta far from the exchange

I prefer not to have my different accounts linked/identified. But it won't be difficult to figure out if you can remember my previous signature. :p
