The official Battlefield 4 thread

Mine was very broken last couple nights. Load of rubber banding and game crashes. And I also still get this massive memory dump every now and then when my RAM usage goes to like 86%, and then just sits there, even if I ALT+F4 out the game. Needs system restart to sort it out.

And that only ever happens in BF4. Ever since launch.

What is the best assault rifle and the best engineer rifle? Why?

That is a pretty broad questions ... It really depends on a couple of things. Like do you prefer stability over rps. Does the mag size make a difference?

Best bet is to check out LevelCapGaming on Youtube, he does a pretty extensive breakdown off all the guns and their pros/cons.

All in my best are the FAMAS and the Ace 23

Just bought and installed bf4 this week. I'm hooked..

Bit difficult to play though, coz on my rig (on lowest graphics settings), I was getting 7fps

After i reduced the resolution to the lowest as well, i managed a passable 30fps. Will be saving up for a new card..
As a noob I find it incredibly difficult to get ahead in multiplayer games.. everybody else has weapons that are stable, and can kill you with one shot, while I run around with the equivalent of a pellet gun.. is it just a case of keep grinding away?

Simple answer yes! It takes time to learn this game. You will come across some okes who have played 1000+ hours. I am sitting on around 300 atm, and only now feeling like am getting "good" at multiplayer. As for the "pellet gun" issue. The first guns you get when playing Assault class for example is pretty bad ass. Like the M14 the second unlock for that class, I am running it right now as I am playing for the master dogtag (500 kills) for that weapon and it really is amazing. As for the rest spend some time on battlelog and have a look at the different ways to unlock the weapons. Also LevelCap on Youtube does a pretty good breakdown of all the weapons. That is a pretty good place to start.

Yeah definitely get a gfx card.. playing at 720p or something is a huge disadvantage.

Weapons are situational, some are great at close quarters, long range, tap firing, automatic etc. The starter assault rifle is a decent all-rounder - you just need to learn to aim down sights quickly and accurately. Personally I find the longer range scopes terrible to use and very situational so try get used to using the 1x scopes first.
