The official Battlefield 4 thread

LAG is insane... Almost unplayable. But gameplay is awesome. Crashed a good couple of heli's due to lag. :D It's difficult flying between buildings. lol

Meh not playing FPS' for the last year has seriously taken its toll.
Well that and my super power seems to be rubber banding.

The lag seemed to ease up though. Had fun in the chopper although it took a while getting back into the 'feel' of it, but had some shocker games.

The map (only tried 64 player one) are fairly large and provide good sniping vantage points, some choke points and cover when on foot.
I had one game where we had a commander (lost that game horrifically) but was interesting having objectives pointed out etc.

The mechanics behind that working (and being "fun" for the commander) is that even if you squad-up with randoms, that the squad goes for the objectives and doesn't go all gung-ho. It seems far more tailored to a group of friends (not even necessarily a full squad) where there are potentially more comms and more chance of following orders.

Overall looking forward to getting back into this again. Going to take a while, but that's half the fun :)

For sure - if you manage to get into a squad where you are 3 or 4 guys sitting playing together on Teamspeak this game is mega fun. Objectives become critical in terms of ending top of the log with score as well as upgrades for your kits etc.

interesting as many say commander mode is not available in BETA

Seems that commander is NOT available during the beta as you said however EA has said you can see DICE employees as commander sometimes.

So it was probably a DICE employee or maybe PhreeMe is confusing it with objectives pointed out by the Squad leader?

Saddens me to say this but after installing Win8 on another partition BF runs without any issues, no lag or stuttering, started-up Win 7 lag & stuttering is back FPS drops to 6 & averages around 30 frequently dipping below 10, on Win8 it runs like a dream avg 40 odd fps on 1920x1080 auto gfx settings.

hmmm.

Haven't played for two days because I select a server, click on join then it just loads forever. Not phased though - have plenty of other things to keep me busy. ;)

Same here... Gave up after 2 tries and went back to GTA

i managed to get on last night for a few min ... my machine just cant deal with it ... to much lag and
frame rate sucked balls!!! had to drop everything to low and still felt kinda slugish! :{

now i need a new pc!

Its not a PC issue, seem that if your machine runs BF3 it should run BF4, it comes down to optimization, Like I said above Win7 suffers when playing the beta but as soon as you go to Win8 it works, plenty people on Battlelog forums that can confirm it.
I wouldn't use the performance we experienced now as a benchmark for upgrading yet, let the dust settle first & see what happens after release. I am sure well get a day one patch again, that's just how Dice rolls.

Another thing I noticed is you have to update punkbuster from their site it adds support for BF4, fixed my pbcrash after installing Win8 on my test partition.

Here is my Pc Specs

AMD 1055t 2.8
8GB RAM
GTX560

yeah remember, it is BETA

apparently this is also a BETA more so to test some net coding so here is hoping it does improve

sad I can't play :(

After playing the BETA i personally dont find flying as fun as it was in bf2 and bf3, which is very dissapointing. :(

Game runs ok for me though at least :)

I have decided to not get the game until I actually have no other alternative.

So far Battlefield 4 isn't as good as I was expecting, but I guess I expect too much these days.
