would be so nice if this device could get confirmed to support QNX would make buying it that much easier, since they havent said anything im holding back, amazing phone tho played with it at the boxburg flea market cell phone shop, 7500.00 there by them

True. If it doesn't, waste really as everyone will start developing aps for QNX and OS7 will be a dead fish.

If it can be upgraded to QNX, I'll definitely get it.

Totally Agree an upgrade to QNX on the 9900 would be absolutely vital if RIM wanted to keep their 9900 customers happy, but seeing how they just dropped the Torch at O.S 6 who knows...
 
To be fair I am not sure OS7 would have run decently on the slower Torch
 
I am VERY happy with my 9900. I replaced my 9800 Torch with it. R2499 pay in on Blackberry 100 contract.
My main concern at this stage is application availability on App world i.e. Dropbox, FNB's app and navigation software (Garmin, Vodacom, NDrive).
I really hope more applications become available soon! If not, I may be forced to use my BB as a phone only! :)

With QNX around the corner I don't see more apps coming out for the current OS. Developers will already jump to QNX and Android app development (Android apps will run on QNX).

This is a main reason why I cannot grasp the 9900 pricing strategy.
 
It is awesome. Very responsive, much smoother experience all together than the Torch.
It is just the apps that lacks and battery life is a bit short if you use it a lot.
All in all, very nice! :)
 
Congrats guys! Damn it sux to be on MTN right now, have been waiting for this phone for a long time.
 
WHY is it so difficult for MTN to sort themselves out!!!!! Lets see what tomorrow holds, otherwise a port to vodacom is in order, sadly
 
The 9900 comes with a Standard battery, Li-Ion 1230 mAh. Most other smart phones comes with 1500 maAh and up batteries. Battery life should be expected to be lower I think. Not sure why they went for a small battery like this...perhaps to make the phone thinner or smaller or something.
 
Sigh Here goes... Im am not happy with my 9900 :( The Battery Life Sucks - if blackberry made 3G on this phone why not keep the 3G on if it was programmed in there you know? - the other thing to me is that the keyboard is good, buy when i reach into my pocket my nail goes under the keyboard and I almost ripped off the key! :erm: another thing is you cannot insert and remove the memory card without taking the crappy battery out... and also I'm getting 5 kbps on my downloads (no change from vodacom) but my downloads stop and say 'error' even when i deleted the service book 2 :cry: - SO im kinda disappointed...... but i really LOOOOOVE the OS.7 :) - But I wont take this phone back I will just live with it :erm: - (miss my Torch)
