You'll be surprised how spacious a mini is. It was actually designed with space in mind, and fuel efficiency. Even things like the welding seams are on the outside of the car to create more space.

For those that don't know, the mini was the first front wheel drive car. Up until the mini was designed, the engine was back to front, with the gearbox behind it. The designers of the mini put the engine left to right, and put the gearbox underneath the engine to connect to the front wheels. That created a lot more space. They specifically wanted 4 adults to fit in it.
