The Official EPL 2011/12 Thread

United loss makes the run in a bit more interesting. They will probably still take the league.

We can't have all the United surporters on here celebrating to early. They need some "squeeky bum" time as well. :p

A Manchester United-supporting bookmaker has tempted fate once again by paying out on his side retaining the Premier League title – even though there are still seven games remaining this season.

Monday's 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers moved United five points clear of Manchester City and Betfred's Fred Done has risked the ire – and possible ridicule – of the blue half of Manchester by declaring the race already over.

Done lost £500,000 in 1998 when he was the first bookmaker to pay out early on the league winners. United were 12 points clear of Arsenal at the time, but went on to lose the title by one point.

"Back in 1998 Fergie told me to never pay out early again but Sir Alex need not worry, I've not got it wrong this time," he said. "United are past the post for a record 20th title. Even with the derby to come a five point lead is just too much for City."

However, despite writing City off this season, Betfred has installed them as 7/4 favourites for the 2012-13 title.

thank these guys

Nice time for Tevez to prove how much he was missed ...

Mad Mario won't be missed.

Title is Utd's to lose...

Robin van Persie is the favourite to be named the Professional Footballers' Association player of the year after the union announced their six-man shortlist for the award.

The winner will be revealed at a dinner on Sunday night when Manchester City's Joe Hart, David Silva and Sergio Agüero, Manchester United's Wayne Rooney and Tottenham Hotspur's Scott Parker will provide the competition for Arsenal's Dutch striker.

Robin van Persie the favourite on PFA player-of-the-year shortlist

Weird list but understandable in some ways. No Kompany, no Mata, no Valencia, no Demba Ba, no Krul.

**** that, it's a reason he should be included :D

Look at Silva, he's only had half a good season, been mediocre this year.

I completely agree. Stats speak for themselves.

Valencia

GAMES GOALS ASSISTS SHOTS
23 4 13 21

David Silva

GAMES GOALS ASSISTS SHOTS
32 6 13 78

But I guess you can make the argument that Valencia might not have been so dominantly good over the entire season.

Spurs season is going down the toilet. If they don't make CL (which is looking more and more likely), Redknapp is gone and so are a few of their players.

Newcastle are playing extremely well at the moment.
