We run the same hardware, different configs, and I have not yet had an issue. If it happens again I would try 7,4rc1. Here is my system resource if it helps to compare. The uptime was a reboot from 7.3 to 7.3.1

I sent my supout.rif to MTK and they replied pretty quick and asked some questions, but I have yet to hear back again.

This is the first issue I've had with it and I know that the general consensus is that 7.x is 'beta' and 6.x is stable, so I'm not going to be too concerned unless it happens again. The only thing that has changed in the last while is a tool that pulls data from the API and publishes it to a Grafana dashboard, but it has RO access so it shouldn't be changing anything.

The support guy did ask me if I was running anything on the USB port which was interesting. Perhaps they have had some issues with USB ports on these models? I didn't have any USB plugged in though so my issue must be something else.
 
Not sure if you guys have noticed, but speedtest.net also does bufferbloat testing now ...

My fq-codel is set at 170/85 for my 200/100 connection. The 1ms jump for upload looks good

Generate a token, could be a pencil or a sock, and whomever has the token can log in... Sorry just kidding isnt this a server problem not Mikrotik specific? Can you do it from behind other routers?

Seriously is there no pencils or socks available? Genuine I thought this was just the accepted norm so thanks!

Warning: Only one L2TP/IpSec connection can be established through the NAT. Which means that only one client can connect to the sever located behind the same router.

There are people on the Ubiquiti forum with the same issue so how does tp-link get it right?

Anyway sticking to the thread all this will be resolved when Mikrotik releases ROS7, wait a minute!
 
so starting out my networking Journey with Microtik's and their configs,
brought myself a little tiny Baby HAP mini RB931-2nd
(it really is tiny, almost the size of a Box of Cigarettes (not that I smoke) )

know these routers are extremely powerful and adaptable for the price you pay,
but whats the best modification or setup you have found with them?

for a 1st step, I think I want to put WPA 3 or a really resilient wifi standard,
doable? or not in its standard config

so then my next question, delving into the flashing and modification space,
firmware like DDWRT or Open WRT worth installing?

out of interest - why would you want to mod / flash it? are there functions in RouterOS that need OpenWRT? genuinely asking

I guess it is easier for a user to configure OpenWRT if you not highly technical?

His router seems supported: https://openwrt.org/toh/hwdata/mikrotik/mikrotik_rb931-2nd_hap_mini

Not to mention, Mikrotik hardware is great for home routers, with an easier OS like OpenWRT, I suspect its probably one of the best options for non-technical users, if they are able to get it flashed

Its flash is too small. Its a pain in the ass. Want mine?
