The Official Nintendo DS Thread

Has anyone here connected their DS to the internet through their Wi-fi modem at home. I have the Mega 100WR modem from Telkom and heard that it's pretty decent modem and would like to know if anyone's connected to the Nintendo wi-fi service as i would like to go online and trade Pokemon when I get my copy of Diamond.

nope i have no wi-fi enabled games :(

I have a wireless router though so i really want to try it

Hi guys,

I just received my new Nintendo DS Lite (the Crimson Red and Black edition) yesterday. This thing is so hot!! I'm really enjoying it. So buch better than my PSP. Unfortunately it only came with BrainAge 2, so that's all I've been playing.

Looking to get some more games, and these are the games I'm looking for:-

New Super Mario Bros.
Tetris DS
Trauma Centre: Under The Knife
Mario Kart DS
WarioWare Touched
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Hotel Dusk: Room 215
Castlevania Portrait of Ruin
Big Brain Academy
Catz
Bomberman Land Touch!
Worms: Open Warfare 2

If anyone is wanting to sell any of their DS games. Please let me know. Otherwise I'll have to search on eBay or elsewhere.

Thanks!

A bit of bad news form the Take2 forums. It's rumored that Core might not be bringing the DS to SA unless there's demand for it. Considering that most people don't know what it is, the DS's future looks bleak.

Oh well, considering I had to get my DS Lite from eBay...I'll most likely get my DS games from eBay as well. I've just ordered like 8 games off eBay so far. And at about R100 cheaper than what Take2 is selling the US imports for.

So it's only if Take2 have a special of some sort, will I purchase from them. Takes the same amount of time if I had to order from Take2 than eBay anyway.

From what I gave heard they will be supporting it. We will know after the Wii launch.

@nuyork I see your in Hillcrest, please let me know if you want to sell any of your DS games.

Bleh, bugger... I don't care if they bring in the DS, like nuyork said, US games are pretty cheap if you get them through e-bay or a friend brings them over. :D Remember the prices at toys-r-us and reggies? Like R400 for some games, R250-R300 for crappier or older games.

All top notch games you got listed the nuyork, except I have never seen catz... :D How is brain-age 2? Is it worth getting? Does it still have the seperate profiles? ( I think the old one had, can't remember, it's hard when you only watched a video about it :D )

Methinks it's time they release the new phoenix wright...... and zelda is also near :D Yipee!

I only just got my DS Lite. I'm looking for games. I only have one game - BrainAge 2. I need games.

Well I've ordered about 8 games from eBay already. Should be here in 2 weeks time.

Sonic Rush Adventure has just been released AND Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass gets released 1st October!!!!!!!! W00t!

Um, that's piracy! And that's bad m'kay! Piracy is for the poor who can't afford games, and should NOT own consoles in the first place. Yeah, I know games are expensive, TOO BAD!! Sorry for you!

I also have the DS lite, but games are scares in SA and waiting so long for a game to arrive is frustrating. Let me know when you want to get rid of some of that 8 games.

BT games said they will start stocking them again after the Wii launch hope it comes true

It's OK. I never played the first BrainAge, but from what I read there have been improvements in BrainAge 2. It came with the DS Lite, so nothing major there. I'm having fun with it. It's a cute game to show family and friends how the DS Lite works.

Are there 3 Phoenix Wright games already?

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations

And then another one Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney.

And looks like there is a 5th one in the making.

I'm curious about these games. How are they? How is the game play? They look very popular.

I know one of them got a very good review score

Using one these does not mean you have to pirate the games. You can buy the originals then download the images.

I've tried it out. It's not really my thing so I did it just to see it work.

It is essentially works the same as the first game. It is has some interesting puzzles.

I wish someone would release a sudoku game that works as well as they one in Brain Age, but with more games.

I think Trials and Tribulations is about to be or has just been released in English. The games usually come out in Japan first - they already have the fourth one.

I'm just starting the second case of the first game and so far I'm enjoying it. You essentially pick up clues, look for inconsistencies is people's statements and try to use these to get your client acquitted.

Kewl, I think I will get brain age 2 for the older fams to play :D

Err, I've got the first two. Dunno what apollo justice is though.

It's a good game, funny storyline, just collect a few clues and then present the right one in court at the right time, which at times is a major source of frustration, because it's not always that obvious, so just trail and error then.
It's a linear game, only one set of actions will see you win mostly, but it's
fun nonetheless. It may not be everybodies cup of the tea, but I would suggest you try at least the first one.

Yeah, that's fine then, will get it for the folks :D

Cool. I think I'll give it a try. Sounds a lot like the board game Cluedo, where you try and figure out a certain thing via a process of elimination.

Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Review

Oh, this is so excellent - after 3 hours last night, Zelda, without a doubt, is the best game I've played on the DS. Everything works perfectly. The puzzles are perfectly substantial, the movement, fighting and boomerang exceptional, and Lineback (a character) adds a touch of humour absent from most other Zeldas.

Best moment. I was convinced the game was broken. I just couldn't clean the map. I tried rubbing the stylus every which way. Even saved and rebooted. Thought - damnit, its not working. Turned off. 20 minutes later... lightbulb. Turn my DS back on, load up Zelda, get out the map, blow in the microphone and whoosh - the dust was removed and I could continue.

Failings: Generally too many hearts lying around.

Score: Nonetheless, 10 out of 10.

M3 adapter

Where can I found one of those M3 adapters? Probably have to import it from somewhere. If someone knows what is the best place to use, please tell me. I will not use it to pirate games, I promise. :p I want to install DSlinux and use homebrew on my DS.
