The World Ends With You:

Any played it before?
looks cool

hey there, i've played and just cleared the world ends with you and in my opinion, its great!! the simultaneous dual screen combat takes getting used to, and setting a rpg in modern times and trends was a risky move on squarenix part but it paid off.

what i really enjoyed was the innovation in the control system. Quite a few games use the DS touch feature as a gimmick i.e. it can be done on a D-pad and with buttons; but the use of the touch screen and stylus in TWEWY really shined and proved that innovation is the future of gaming, not necessarily graphics and power.

yeah, the story and dialogue can be cheesy at times (seems likes a combination of a dumbed down version of Gantz and The Ring) but its the original gameplay and controls makes it fun to play or, in my case, replay :D
If you have a R4 or an EDGE (i have that one) I'd definately recommend atleast a download and try out.

yay! my first post!

hope this helps.

Anyone played Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword? Just viewed the trailer. Looks freakin awesome!

it is bro, and freakin difficult too!! lol, i guess thats where the appeal is. Nice controls on the touch screen and the graphics rock. I havent finished it though cos i got hooked on TWEWY...what can i say? i'm a sucker for rpgs lol :D

check out this link pal www.dslinux.org/ has a lot of info about dslinux....from what I've read, it seems very alpha and very unnecessary. Personally, i think it'll be cool to run some productivity tools on the ds cos of the touchscreen (diary/organiser/calender) but apart from that, my ds is used for gaming and thats it. i mean it lacks the processing power of really becoming pda or its counterparts; and if you wanna surf the net, i'd rather invest in the NDS browser with opera rather than running a buggy browser from a linux port thats still in its infancy.

if you wanna use some media functions on your ds, there are plenty of homebrewish ways to do so...i'll keep an eye on ds linux, you never no. but right now i just dont see the point..unless you enjoy watching lines of code on ur screens lol!

hope this helps

Drone Tactics.....get out your fly swatters!!!

i've been playin drone tactics for about 3 days now and I'm really starting to enjoy it.

basically its a srpg in which you control mecha insects (WTF??!!:D) lol; it has the basic elements of most srpgs (phases,fields,etc.) and a sort of card system thrown into the mix, which i havent really started using yet; but what makes this really cool is the customizations, weapons and IMO, graphics.

anyone playing this yet??

I think the main reason people would want to do that is because they can :rolleyes:.

I downloaded and run dslinux, but I haven't looked at it in detail yet because I am still waiting for my RAM expansion card, and apparently it is quite necessary (btw, you will need it for the Opera Browser as well). I am hoping I can do some basic file management on dslinux, because switching between DS and PC every time I just want to move or delete a file is not on. I am wondering why this is not available on the M3 firmware :confused:.

ram expansion pak

@kilkraze any idea where to get the ram expansion pak and the cost?? I'm situated in Durban, if that helps

GBA roms on DS

I know the answer to this question is on some forum somewhere...but I've looked and still no satisfaction!! can one run GBA roms on a DS?? I know a slot 2 device is need, but where in SA do we lay our sticky fingers on it??

I've been running GBA roms on my N82 btw...freakin shhhweeeet!! :D

@imaginary_friend

I ordered a EZflash 3in1 V for DS lite from BGR for R255. It has 32 MB of NORflash to dump GBA roms,16 MB of PSRAM like the same as the Opera browser expansion, 512KB of SRAM (battery backed) and a 3 setting rumble thingie, all in one slot 2 cartridge. Check out this link for more info. I haven't received it yet, so I cannot comment on how i works 'n stuff like that.

I'm seriously considering asking my parents for a DS for my 18th which is coming up soon. I'm into MMORPGs (online RPGs). Is there anything of the sort or similar for the DS that would keep me hooked?

well i dont know if there is or will be MMOs on the DS...
but i know of some RPGs in general thats great...

@imaginary
i ordered a M3 from BGR for R415, i believe it can probably play GBA roms aswell. It arrived yesterday morning at 4 am, but im still waitin on the post office to send the collection card or whatever you call it... so i too cannot comment yet

hey lydon. I heard rumors of a Maple story DS thats going to be released in the near future. As you may or may not know Maple story is a really popular MMORPG, but i havent got any confirmation that the DS version is going to be MMO...still, i find the rumor delicious :D lol, i'm also a fan of MMO's so heres keeping my fingers crossed. either way, i still think that the DS is a great handheld. honestly, my psp has been gathering dust for a while now. The DS is really more phun...the psp is really a portable playstation (duh!)...lol, if you have a ps2/3 already, i think its better to get a ds...but thats just my ignorant opinion!!

@Dragonic
Howzit dragonic, i got the edge4ds for about 2 months now and its an excellent slot 1 device. Plays my NDS roms flawlessly plus cheat system (which i dont use but nonetheless) and a 2gig microsd included. Best thing is that i payed just a little over R300 for it so i think thats great value. check this link for more info http://www.edge4ds.com/ unfortunately I dont think any slot 1 device plays GBA roms :( oh well, can win em all...

@Kilkraze thanks for the info buddy *imaginary_friend searches frantically for credit card to buy from BGR....imaginary_friend hopes that BGR believes in imaginary friends....:D *
