The Official NVidia Shield Thread

So no video lag thus far but remote was very delayed. Tried these settings and worked fine. Hopefully it lasts.even volume works better now although I would have preferred a normal button.

First, ensure that the Shield and Remote have the latest software updates applied. Then go into the App area of the Settings and perform the following steps for the Android TV Remote Service and Bluetooth Share apps:
1) Clear Cache
2) Clear Data
3) Force Stop
After this has been done, plug in the shield controller via USB and restart the shield tv. When it comes back online, re-pair the remote. The controller should already be paired, but if not, repair wirelessly after the remote has been re-paired.

Struggling to get neogeo working on retroarch.

Anyone have a neogeo bios for me please? I downloaded one but not sure what's going on here.

Remote still iffy.if I want to increase volume I have to press a few times before it works. Same for double tap to pause.
Same here. I'm so annoyed at the moment, I click in any direction then either no response, or it goes in whatever direction a 100 times. In other words, on Kodi, if I click down once to go through my series, it goes through all the series almost as if I pressed the button a 100 times.

At the same time, my power tripped today, my PC ip changed, now I can't change the damn SMB location to the current IP. I've looked everywhere on Kodi to change this but nada.

Mine not lagging on browsing but just on volume, more especially the slider. Try my solution, it works for most parts

So I found the culprit for laggy remote. If you are using the usb 3.0 port to connect to a hub or external drive, beware it causes serious bluetooth interference and to some degree wireless as well. Its unfortunately by design. I tucked my drive about half a ruler length(furthest I can go) and it fixes the lag. By design the remote will take a few seconds to respond if you leave it for a while. This is to save battery life.

I don't even use the bundled remote anymore it's just infuriating. I just use my LG TV remote which works great.

My ps4 remotes don't pair anymore. Not sure if it is due to the last increment update. Anyway, using the same remotes for ps4 and shield sucks. Once it's paired with the shield it is difficult to unpair even if you delete it so can't use with ps4 immediately. I need a dedicated remote for the shield that works flawlessly and it is cheaper. Any ideas?

I saw that but I think that those that are experiencing the remote issue, are you guys running off of wifi on the 2.4GHz band? The band interferes with the Bluetooth frequency as well since both are 2.4GHz.

I'm running 2.4GHz for wireless devices yes, but mostly I have my Shield on wired connection... But yes the interference could still be there. Any idea of what channel the Bluetooth is running within the 2.4GHZ range?

Not sure, but shouldn't you change the channel on your router? I can't see how you can change the channel on your bluetooth remote. I also don't think that changing a channel might work.

Sometimes I use my LG remote, sometimes my Shield.
I did not have this problem at all when I started using my Shield in the beginning.

Some more info ... USB 3 creates interference on the 2.4GHz range too!!!

I agree in the beginning the remote was perfect...
