Yeah I think so.I am getting 30hz at 4k, would that be because of the cable perhaps?
Just checked, changed the DVI port it was plugged into and now runs max 60hzYeah I think so.
I tried the online gaming, but the ping is too bad, no local servers. I have not tried it for standalone games or emulator types, so can't comment on that. I don't have an nVidia card in my PC, so can't stream games either at the moment... Basically I use mine for Youtube, Netflix & Kodi.... that's about it. It is however faster than any Android Media Box I have tried by a lot!
So, in South Africa, with GeForce Now being my main attraction to the Shield, is it worth it?
Secondly, I currently have a Mi Box S which cost me R1500 a year ago and it's perfectly fine for most of my needs. Now the big question is, is the Shield, which is currently 4.5K on geewiz and $190 on Amazon, REALLY worth all that extra money?
Most definitely not. It's unusable here due to the latency.
No, it's not. If the Mi Box is good enough for you then don't waste your money. The Shield does some things very well for certain use cases but if you're served well by the Mi Box then I don't think you fall into any of those use case categories.
Up to 25% faster than the previous generation thanks to the new NVIDIA Tegra X1+ chip.
I actually don't have issues with the current remote controller. And the volume slide is sexy somewhat.
I think there's a way to disable it, no?I HATE the touch volume control! Never ever works right and sometimes just has a mind of it's own changing volume at will and the rest of the time when you actually do want to change the volume it just doesn't respond. !@#$ing useless piece of !@#$ing !@#$, !@#$ !!!1!!!!!
I think there's a way to disable it, no?
I thought everyone uses the Fire TV remote.I need it to change the volume. I did get a bee in my bonnet at a stage to look for a 3rd party replacement but never found anything.
As I'm about to flatten a 3rd set of batteries I may be annoyed enough to try again.
