The official running thread™

I upgraded my watch and can now choose between GPS+glonass and GPS+ galileo.
From a quick google seems like Russian satellites or European satellites but I can find which is better in SA.
Any thoughts?

They about the same, makes little difference imo. I actually just go with straight GPS+nothing to have slightly improved battery life. I get the same outcomes as all my mates who use glonass or galileo. Just get out there and have fun :)

I agree 100% about getting out there and having fun.
I am not so worried about battery life I got the fenix 6 pro.

Will be cheering all the crazies from the sidelines
Please post a few pics here.
I was thinking of going to support a mate but he got injured so is not going to run.
I will join those crazies again just need to train more now that I am older.

I am entering the Cape Town marathon in October but need better shoes. Are the Asics the best brand to pursue for the price that one pays?

I definitely hope to meet some of you there for a proper meet and greet.

The right shoe is dependent on things like your weight & your landing foot position (do you pronate, supinate or do you land neutrally). What works for one may not work for someone else. Your best bet would be to go to a place like Totalsports (Century City) where you can run on a treadmill and they can assess your running style and advise accordingly.

Glad you've entered though. I've done a few and it is certainly a great morning out.
