I have a Garmin 245 Music that has a line on the screen. I bought this from Amazon in December. I booked it in for repairs at the Garmin office in Rosebank but I'm feeling very reluctant to take it there after reading the recent reviews.
Has anyone taken in their device for repairs under warranty lately? I really don't want to be without the watch for a month and would rather use it until I travel to Europe.

Someone posted here that he had a very pleasant experience at Rosebank.
Worth a shot - got nothing to lose since its from Amazon.

Haven't done a 5k only parkrun in a while. It's usually a 5k to the PR, do that, and another few k's back home. I've got 3 PR's within a 4k radius of my house so it makes sense.

Anyone else does this?

Yeah I will run to PR if i'm in a big training period. Normally 6KM's+- to there from home.

Yeah during winter I do this as I don't like getting up in the cold. Start running 7.30 get to parkrun at 8ish and run home.

I have 2 parkruns in 3-4km radius and one at 7kms so can pick what distance I want to do.

Nah take it there it is awesome if the can't fix it they generally give you a new device for free (same version). I have had 2 new garmin 935s, a garmin 45, a garmin 645 and a heart rate belt replaced at no cost.

Thanks, I took it there on Thursday, the lady assured me that the technician will get back to me in 10 working days. Will see if I have a similar experience to yours

So I made use of this function this morning, it was a good run. This will really help me to hit some specific pace targets.

HR monitor turned off to preserve the battery

I would guess around 170, but that's based on a similar run 1 month ago, however, much work has been put in since then

What... How bad is your battery life that you have to turn it off? I'm also surprised you wouldn't turn it on for a 5k anaerobic push.

I actually forgot for this one, will do another one in the week

The HR monitor requires me to charge the watch more frequently, even if it's 20%, it's annoying, and I never really derived much insight from the HR, my desire to vomit was the main reference point :|

If you find a flat route you should be able to go below 20 min.
