The official running thread™

I've never done MAF. Just run based on how I feel.
My 5km pr in high school was 14:04 minutes. I still average around 19 minutes on most 5km runs when I'm cruising long distance.
Have you done more than 21k up to marathon distance?

Comrades?

I have not done comrades and don't really plan to. I've done the fish river ultra. Marathons yes. When I used to train religiously for half marathons (120-160km per week) I would run 36km some mornings. Also prior to running a half marathon I would run 8-12km to warm up before it starts lol

5km recovery run this afternoon or evening. Might do 8km.

You hate it more than not being able to run? Tsek  . They just gonna gooi some needles, do some massaging and lastly apply some tape. It's actually quite lekker.

No! Sides it will be better tomorrow

I'm going to see what happens at Lynnfield next Saturday. If things are still not right by then I have agreed to let J drag me off to see someone

This here is my best friend. Better than deep heat and deep freeze in my experience.

I'm doing my first 10k trail run in a couple of weeks.

Since I'm still fat and slow, I'm guessing around 2hours for the run (based on my on road time of 1:20:00).

I want to carry 1-1.5 litres of water with me, not toouch, but at least something.

Any recommendations for a cost effective running pack or vest? Something that is available in XL.

Also, opinions on vest vs pack? I see Cape Union Mart has a small 2l pack that can take a 1.5l bladder, but it only has a chest strap, no waist strap. Which do you prefer and why?

My only recommendation is don't go too cheap. Although my R250+- vest has done the job, I have a number of zips coming off left and right and lost a pair of gloves as a result.

You lose approx 1l of fluid per hour so best you take 2l of fluid.
