How many of you guys have had respiratory issues after having Covid?

I had covid pretty bad last year August and i keep getting respiratory infections since, i can barely walk up 2 flights of stairs without being out of breath, i put it down to being unfit and packing on 10+kg since the first lockdown, but apparently its because my lungs are messed up from Covid, had to do a wellness assessment at work due to being off sick so often. Pre Covid i could easily maintain 6m per km. Now im between 7.30-8m per km on the odd occasion im not sick and able to run, been sick with chest infections for over a month so i havent been able to run. I just get back into it, start seeing some progress and then i get sick again and cant run and go even further backwards.

I seriously miss running.

My last run was in November, this year is sucking ass as I wont be part of Comrades.

All I can say is don't rush too much, I tried to and got even worse. Get your health sorted, and then maybe a month or so of being well, try again, even if its slow, just so you don't overexert yourself and create a loop.

100%, taking it slow, boosting the immune system big time and focusing on strength training, been to gym once so far this week, planning to go this afternoon again and i will give it a bit longer this time around before i add cardio back in.

@crusadersis t just me or does the cushioning differ between all my velocity's. Right now I'm using my last green pair velocity's and the cushioning feels similar to the deviates.😅 this is weird. My other colors ie the blue and pink orange ones feels slightly more stiff.

Surprised to see Asics in the lead. I've never had much luck with them personally.
Same here.

Have trained for and done at least one or more Comrades with all but 3 named brands in the graph.
Never had issues with blisters, sore feet or any foot related discomfort other than the 2 years wearing ASICS (one each Nimbus and Cumulus).

It's a hard pass for me. (yet difficult because I generally laude and blindly buy anything "made in Japan")

I usually have high heart rate issues for a while. First time was when I had pig flu many years ago and then I've had covid twice. Each time I have to take things easy for a while and it takes a few months to settle down again.
Its like my heart is very quick to ramp up the beats and doesn't drop easily. The first time I got covid I actually went for a run feeling fine unaware of anything only to see my heart rate spiking like crazy. Next day I went for a test and was positive.

The serious viruses can definitely give your body a beating.

The wide Velocity does feel much stiffer than my green one, but that could be because they are new. Only got just under 50km on them. The green already has 130.

I see all the Velocities seem to be sold out on the PUma site (at least in my size).

I've noticed the shoes with pure white or mostly white sole's are softer than the shoes with soles that's a different color ie the previous pair had a sole that was mostly blue and pink. My purple velocitys that I bought in London with 50-60% purple sole is also alot stiffer than the green pair where the sole is 90% white.

Yip also had it twice, once in 2022 which wasnt bad but then last year August i got it bad and developed Asthma. Ive only had 1 asthma attack and it was after a 4k time trial on my way home, not a pleasant experience. In the last month ive been sick 3 out of 4 weeks, was booked off for almost 2 weeks in that time. It really sucks but i guess i just have to deal with it and be patient until im completely healed up.

I don't think my FF55 is holding charge as much anymore. Charged this morning 100% and now it is 82%. I only used the bluetooth briefly this morning to load stats. I kinda noticed a week or two ago that the battery didn't seem to last as long but anyway. Is it worth changing the battery and where does one do this.

What do you all normally wear for the runs in winter time, because here in PTA it is getting really cold and running with a normal running shirt and running shorts is not ideal?

Try shutting down/resetting etc first. Its a common issue.

Leave it on the charger till 100% + another hour then shut the watch off through the menu and leave it for a bit.
Next don't recharge it until it hits 20%.

If that doesn't work try a full factory reset also after the full recharge.

I switch my ankle socks for longer socks, my short shirt for a long shirt and wear a buff over my ears, mouth and nose. If it is really cold I add gloves.

Over here it hasn't gotten extremely cold yet. Around 17°C or so. I've transitioned to long sleeved running shirt + shorts. So far end up rolling ip the sleeves halfway through the run. Have a tracksuit/tight (it's not quite either) pants I use when there's snow on the surrounding mountains.

What do you guys use for low light running to stay visible? It's alsmost dark by 6PM when my runs come to an end. I have a reflective belt and also have one of those blinking bike taillights I hold in my hand while running. Doesn't feel like it's enough since drivers take ages to dim their brights.
