The official running thread™

I am not sure if I am even ready atm. Maybe I should skip this and actually run with a hydration pack and using gels  or am I over thinking it....
You are over thinking it. Just prepare adequately and enjoy the run. Don't set a time but rather take in the vibe and go with it. Walk when you need to but maintain a comfortable pace. Dont put yourself under any pressure other than to finish strong.

Dont forget the Vaseline....

Just join runzone run, rock up with R50 and go run 21km. Waterpoints every 5km. I will send the route once they have it up, the Linden route is pretty tough there is a hill at the end...

I would get there 5:15 for a decent parking inside.

Will also look into this! Just next week I am away for a music festival (Mieliepop) for my birthday so give me time to recover :p

Officially first 15km in about 6+ years also the fastest 15km I have ever done (I think) and with a pram to boot.

Weather was perfect light breeze, cool and overcast. Had the Wellerman playing so little guy and me listened to sea shanties the whole way,

Best of all sub 1.5hour 15km!!!

Used soft marshmallow eggs as "fuel" ran with electrolyte water and also had pronutro an hour before the run, I dont mess around with longer distances, got burnt many years ago doing a 15km fasted with no water... never again.

Will likely do a light 8km run tomorrow.

I see most of the run was threshold very difficult to get HR lower with the pram dont care though as I am now used to it.

Have a great weekend all!

No run this morning, road was quite wet and slippery decided to just do a 4km walk with the little guy

Ran a 20km training sesh on Saturday and the Woolies XTri 15km trail yesterday. Really battled for most of the run but glad that I pushed a bit.

Decided to "splurge" on one of these for post run massage

I am doing this one in 2 weeks the 25km.

If you have cycled out there you will know the terrain rolling long hills up and down. You can see the top so you gotta suck it up to the top then catch your breath on the way down.

Not my favorite because of all the bicycles but is lekker out there and if you are lucky you can see some rhinos.
I've seen the adverts but didn't realise they have a 50km.. Bookmarked for next year.

Good luck on your run!

What I have noticed being off for a bit is that my shins are pretty sore/sensitive  I hope this is normal due to my increase in running this year hopefully not a long term issue. Doesn't seem to bother me while running...
