So I run in my shoes until they either fall apart or begin feeling uncomfortable, I don't believe in replacing them just for the sake of it.
So on the Friday before Comrades, I noticed they were delaminating

and I was like

so I took a massive gamble, bought a new pair, "ran them in", only a 5km loop on Saturday, put plasters on my heel (as that was the only place I felt a slight bit of friction), and winged it on Sunday. Happy to report that breaking the number 1 rule of race day (trying new things) did not backfire, at least not this time
