Crisis! When I was there a few weeks ago, there was plenty on Perdekop but Dutoitskop was bare. That looks crazy!

It was knee to waist deep on Dutoitskop, had a lekker 41 min KM getting to the summit. We only went part of the way up to Perdekop before turning back. It sounded even deeper up there, not sure if anyone made it to the top as everyone we met turned back before the summit.

Most runners I see with that toe hole problem just accepted reality and cut a bigger hole in the top. Why ice skate uphill. I've seen guys at the start of races with the whole toe box removed.

As long as the hole doesn't spread, it doesn't really bother me.

New balance comes in Wides. then mebbe you dont needs to cut holes

Two of my pairs are actually wides!

Quite a bizarre phenomenon. Could be a NB flaw rather than normal wear and tear. Perhaps get a different brand and then alternate with the NB?

I have the same with Asics (in the pic) and with a pair of Adidas trail shoes which I use as casual wear shoes.

That's some high mileage on those shoes. When I bought mine I was told to replace them at around 500kms. I've done over 800kms on my Kayanos and I'm starting to get foot pain.

My shoes have done well for me; they seem to be good even with relatively high mileage.

Fair tonight.

Only did 2.2 KM, mostly walking incline and some running at 8Km/h

Just did not have energy, it's due to the weekend, because I ate like a fat child again, fantastic steak meals, but also I need to take my gout pills this week otherwise there is going to be a problem.

This American still manages to keep up with the North African surge in the long runs. Picked up an olympic bronze, in only her 4th marathon.
Unlike most other top athletes, also posts her runs on Strava. IMG_20210828_154559.jpg

Where are the top runners with a VO2 Max of 50 and above? Motivate us! Let’s hear it - it’s okay you’re not bragging :)

Some amazing pics posted, I've been running less over the last two weeks so haven't posted. Did a 10km and a 5 km over that time. have been busy but might join the group again on Saturday for a run. My pace is steadily improving and I'm not as sore anymore.

At least you are still running. I'm still at the walk/run phase.

Hoping the weather warms up so I can get back to a more regular program.

Was training flat out for half Ironman Durban in June but then I got the rona 5 days before the race :crying: Couldn't do any exercise for basically 2 months without my heart rate going through the roof. Been focusing on cycling for the last 6 weeks though because I've got a 500km/6day MTB tour starting next weekend. Will try get back into the running once I'm back.

The rona killed my fitness though FTP down from 3.4 W/kg to maybe 2.9 W/kg and VO2Max down from 59 to 51 (although both were back up to 3.1 W/kg and 56 this weekend so getting some of it back).

This morning I tried to see how far I could get in 60min. I did a easy 5km warmup then balls to the wall. The extra few killograms I'm carrying is not helping at all.
I'm curious to know how you managed to plan it in a way that you ended back at home and not some random place :)
