There are few threads about Stargate already, but none of them really encompass the entire franchise and I am a huge fan so thought I would start one.

Hopefully we can educate some people who haven't watched this before to get with the program :D

Firstly, here is a list of all movies, series and games that are part of the Stargate universe (that are worth mentioning):

1994 - Stargate (Movie)
1997 - Stargate SG-1 (TV Series: 10 Seasons)
2002 - Stargate Infinity (Animated TV Series: 1 Season)
2004 - Stargate Atlantis (TV Series: 5 Seasons)
2008 - Stargate: The Ark of Truth (Movie)
2008 - Stargate: Continuum (Movie)
2009 - Stargate Universe (TV Series: 2 Seasons)
2010 - Stargate Resistance (PC Game)
2013 - Stargate SG-1: Unleashed (Mobile Game)

Please let me know if I have forgotten something here, I will update the list.

The new mobile game, Stargate SG-1: Unleashed, was released just a month ago. Anybody who is a fan of the franchise must download this game (currently in Apple App store for $4.99, coming soon for Android). The original cast of SG-1 does the voice acting and while not very challenging, the game at least gives us fans a new story along with Teal'c once again uttering the sweet word, indeed :D

If anybody has questions this would be a great place to ask as I think I am quite knowledgeable with all things Stargate (and know of a few other forumites how share my geekish obsession).

For me, Stargate SG-1 will remain the greatest television series every created. I am currently rewatching the entire series and still enjoy every moment.

I can only hope that the franchise will one day again be brought to life as a new TV series (a reunion SG-1 season would make me wet myself :D).

To anybody that is unfamiliar with the franchise even if you are not totally in to science fiction (although you should at least enjoy the genre slightly), I would recommend that you get your hands on some of these shows, start with the Stargate movie (although the lead was played by arguably my least favourite actor) then move to season 1 of SG-1. You can thank me later.

Agreed with OP. SG1 is the best show ever made.

Anyone remember Jack O Neil hitting a golf ball through the Stargate? :D

You know you can actually play that game too?

It's not in my list because it's not actually a story line game, but if you are on Android or iOS you can download Stargate Command and play Stargate golf :D It's awesome.

I love everything to do with Stargate, I just could not get into the last series, Stargate Universe! :(

I loved it. So bummed they canned it. That was the last good space show on tv, or actually come to think of it I believe it was the last space show all together. SyFy are really pushing the biggest load of carp these days.

After SG Universe I wont bother to watch anything from SyFy anymore.
Everything they put on is crap or ends up getting canned.
 
I had several box sets of SG1. I got rid of it recently because I got everything on hard drive. Actually, I even had a whole bunch of Futurama box sets as well. (Dr Zoidberg was my favourite character)

SG1 was the best. I really had hopes for SG Universe but I think they started to lose the plot in Season 2. Pity.
 
This just makes me sad that there hasn't been any thing as good or better since.

You can't watch it for the first time more than once. Amnesia sufferers are so lucky.

Approves, but also disapproves ;)

Stargate was pretty awesome. I still remember watching the movie at the cinema: epic! Really liked Universe and was really sad it got canned.
 
I loved SG-1, about 5 years ago I sat and watched them all from the beginning again, it was sheer awesome.
 
I wish they would've kept the boobies as shown in the pilot. Kind of a bait and switch move. Still an awesome show.
