The Official Xiaomi Thread

These guys have really gone off the rails with their naming scheme.

So there is now Poco F , Poco M , Poco X, Redmi A, Redmi C , Redmi X, Redmi T, Redmi S with some Pros and NFCs here and there amongst the above. Haven't even really scratched the surface yet

That's because the have found a working formula where they repackage the same phone in one region and calling it another in a different region. India has become a dumping place for all kinds of so called budget models. Add to those Pocos - Poco M2, Poco X3, Poco X2, Poco F2. Good luck choosing a redmi phone in 2020 amongst; Redmi 9, Redmi 9 India, Redmi 9 Prime, Redmi 9A, Redmi 9C, Redmi 9C NFC, Redmi 9i, Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 9S, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi Note 9 Pro India, Redmi Note 9 Pro Max.

Buying decision.
Redmi note 9s for R4200 or note 8 for R3300.
I have the note 9S and I'm happy with it, but my mate is a cheapskate.
Is the R900 extra for the note 9S worth it, ito an upgrade over note 8?
Both 64gb rom and 4gb ram.

I would go for the 9S because it's newer, so you'll get security updates for that much longer. This has value IMO.

Both models work. R900 is a lot of money if there is no specific reason to buy the more expensive one....

to my knowledge I have not seen adds in first party apps. It seems like they loaded apps to all their software, even when you install new apps. But im not bothered by youtube adds so this wont bother me.
