The Official Xiaomi Thread

My note 9S is stuck in a boot loop. Anyone had any success with mia.africa and returns? Purchased in December 2020, so just over a year old. Perhaps can point me in the right direction to return it?

This thread has changed my view of Xiaomi from “great value” to “cheap trash”.

The shills on YouTube should be ashamed of themselves.

I would not say cheap trash. I have had my 9s for nearly a year and I like it but it definitely have "cheap" elements to it. The most egregious of which is the UI. It feels very cheap in that sense as well as the baked in adverts. Thats why a few people put other OSs on their xiaomis.

Mi 9T. Now 2 and a half years old. Daily driver.

Besides more regular charging due to degraded battery, still a magnificent device and the POP-UP camera still works perfectly, although I'm not a selfie person and only use for video calls. I'll run it until it dies.

It’s quite something when the best argument you have against the brand being… unreliable is, “I have one that works”.

Too many people are having issues, it’s unacceptable. This page alone has two people complaining. Xiaomi is trash.

And your best argument you have for the brand being unreliable is "this page alone has two people complaining" .

Because they've only sold 4 so far, so 50% failure rate.

How far back do you have to go to find another, yet unique, issue? Go ahead, look. It won’t take much time at all. Your statistical reasoning skills need work.

How long? My note 10 was stuck for a day but eventually sorted itself out.

Some people are idiots,
My Mi 9 is great, ads turned off, battery has degraded, had a tiny battery to start with though. I will be keeping it till it dies. and my next Phone will be a Xiaomi too.

My 9C still as fast and reliable as the day I bought it more than a year ago. Definitely another Xiaomi for me when this one eventually kicks the bucket.

Nice. It’s probably gonna die soon, though.

So now you're going to troll the thread nitpicking over every compliant to confirm your bias but completely ignore the posts that contradict your bias?
The ratio of positive to negative posts is way off. Which other brands have a similar number of people reporting defects? This is not a bias, it’s seeing what’s obvious.

A touch screen failure on a device that is primarily a touch screen interface is not “nitpicking”. Vanishing storage space is not “nitpicking”. A phone stuck in a boot loop for an entire day - or longer - is not “nitpicking”.

And yet they go back for more, but I’m the idiot!
