The Official Xiaomi Thread

Likewise.

"OMG people reporting issues / asking for xiaomi advice in the xiaomi thread! Clearly trash!".

Haven't had anything but Xiaomi's in our house since my Samsung Note 2.
All of them still working fine - even the Note 3 Pro which is still being kept up to date by XDA devs (April security updates: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...cing-mar-30-2022.4090359/page-8#post-86671547 )

Will I forever stick to Xiaomi? No, not if I see a superior product.

People shouldn't get married to a brand and then treat it like a terrible divorce and turn toxic when something goes wrong.

3 problems. In a thread of nearly four hundred pages.

No, you're a genius.
Three problems, from only the most recent posts, not spread across the expanse of 400 pages. But! I went a scant few pages back again, and guess what I found? Complaints of ghost touches. Mo’ Mi, Mo problems, yo.

That’s not all! I randomly jumped to page 190 and skim read - ghost touches reported on page 188, too.

Yeah, I’m the idiot.

Puts Nike7 on ignore.
Look, I’m sorry. I could have been more tactful, my intention was not to insult anyone - I merely felt that I dodged a bullet and hoped to warn others so that they wouldn’t make the mistake I very nearly did.

I did not mean to upset the Xiaomi faithful, those of bargain-loving standards-dispensing virtue.

I just figure that you are already upset so it makes no difference if I change course now.

Also, when Elon buys this forum you will have to read my posts again.

You cultists.

So people with NO problems should also post and say - hey guys I have no problems with Xiaomi can someone please help. That would be a better reflection of the ratio, yes?
What are you getting at? It seems your hypothesis is that people with problems are more likely to post here, as people arriving at the doctor are more likely to be ill.

But this is a tech forum, plenty to discuss outside of hardware faults. Notice the lack of hardware fault mentions in the iPhone 13 thread - where does that leave your hypothesis?

Kindly troll elsewhere. 2 pages of nonsense so far.
I was responding to a post. While I have no intention of ruining this thread for Xiaomi fans, you need to have thicker skin because I have no intention of censoring myself either. Use the ignore function, or report me to the mods for saying nasty things about the brand you so loyally serve.

Then go fap in the iPhone 13 thread bud. Many happy customers including myself and 30 other people I know, and none of them post here.

can we please keep this xiaomi related?

if one feels the need to complain about the integrity of the thread, perhaps a new thread should be started - ie "my gripes with The Official Xiaomi Thread"

This thread has changed my view of Xiaomi from “great value” to “cheap trash”.

The shills on YouTube should be ashamed of themselves.
Samsung no1 in sales, followed by Xiaomi then Apple worldwide. Guess 52 million people would disagree with you.

What always gets me about Apple fan girls, is that their devices are made up of the same parts from China and Samsung devices. Very few parts are "Apple made" in their own devices.
Next time you take out your APPLE PHONE and look at that lovely screen, remember, Samsung & LG makes all their screens.

Lol yeah no my Xiaomi 4k streaming stick works great and is 3 times less than an Apple TV.
Yep I don't post in this thread and I have MANY Xiaomi products. Vacuums (2 actually), sensors, a kettle, a fan, 2 speakers, 2 lights (lamps). None of them have given a smidge of a problem.

Xiaomi app screenshot. The speakers aren't in the app, but we have 2 of them and the 1 vacuum is a handheld so no smart feature.

c) Straight pass.

Xiaomi announces OLED Vision 55 TV for the Indian market

Xiaomi today announced the Xiaomi OLED Vision 55 TV for the Indian market. This is the company's first OLED television to be launched in India.

The OLED Vision 55 features a 55-inch, 3840x2160 OLED panel. We were unable to get information on the panel manufacturer from Xiaomi but it's likely the same LG WRGB panel that most companies use. It's a native 10-bit panel with a fixed 60Hz refresh rate and 98.5% DCI-P3 coverage.

The TV supports Dolby Vision IQ, which automatically adjust display brightness to match ambient lighting, along with HDR10+, HDR10, and HLG. It also features IMAX Enhanced certification, which checks for various audio and video quality aspects for consistency with IMAX Enhanced content.

The audio features an 8-driver 30W speaker system with support for Dolby Atmos and DTS X surround sound standards.

For connectivity you get 3x HDMI 2.1* ports, one of which supports eARC, 2x USB ports, Ethernet, composite in, optical out, and headphone jack. There's also dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.0 support.

Xiaomi puts a giant asterisk on the HDMI 2.1 part because these aren't HDMI 2.1 ports but rather HDMI 2.0. However, since the HDMI Licensing Administrator has incredibly lax and downright foolish requirements for something to be considered HDMI 2.1, you can very well add a couple of HDMI 2.1 features to HDMI 2.0 and officially label it HDMI 2.1.

Not a chance. The 65 inch LG nano is R15k at makro....

The Xiaomi is OLED and the LG is fancy LED but still LED which is inferior in every way to proper OLED (except viewing angles which isn't relevant for a TV).

If the Xiaomi is decent quality, I'd expect it to sell like hot cakes. Put one next to any LED tv in a properly-lit display area and it would look much better. Just the nature of the technology....OLED will replace LED in the next year or two once the cost comes down.
