Update: after sending them a message and answering some questions about the device, I received an estimate of R160 for the courier and R1084.70 to replace the screen.

According to https://mia.africa.com/za/catalog/category/view/id/200 the warranty on the Redmi 2 8GB is three years. I don't know about other models.

The problem actually started after a recent factory reset. I will try a reset again.

I was told by a Xiaomi rep in Makro 6 weeks ago, that it is actually the Core group that brings these devices into South Africa officially. They the same guys who run the iStore and official apple distributors ... So surely they could help?

The core group doesn't bring the devices but they own Mia Africa, they both have different management and staff
