The Official Xiaomi Thread

Just wanted to say if this Zasstrra thing works out, I'll start online shopping more often when I need goodies. :)

I think you will be the first in recent memory to use them. I've always wanted to use them for goodies here and there but I've always made another plan or ordered elsewhere because I would itch to get whatever it is here faster. But do let us know how you find the experience

R151.99 is no big deal. Saves me also the time and schlepp of driving around all over the place.

I'll rather use a courier than trust our lovely GPO...

So note 5A vs note 4x?
which is better? Will there be a note 5 or 5x with better specs?

From GSM:

The Note 5A has already been certified by China's TENAA. The listing revealed two major versions for the handset, having a 5.5-inch 720p screen (an LCD) and a 3,000mAh battery. SoCs are likely to be Snapdragon 425 and Snapdragon 430, while memory configuration is 2GB/16GB and 3GB/32GB.

If that is correct I would stay the hell away from it. Then again the info I had was that Note 5A would be SD630 and Note 5 SD660... will have to see.

The 4A is nice and pocketable. I think above 5.5" it starts getting bulky and heavy anyway. I used to have a 6" Lumia 1320 and it nearly pulled my pants down most days

The biggest phone I ever owned was a Redmi Note 4 and that was ok for a while. Now that I am back on my Mi 5 for a month I started to remember why I always opted for small devices. They just seem to be so light and easy to pocket.

Its amazing what a difference a few mm can do.

Edit: Just had to go compare all the smartphones I used since the start (Ok bar the Note 4)

Just my luck. The note 4 is R3259 on takealot today. I delayed ordering from afrihost so I could get a special which never came. Now it does after I've ordered.
Yeh but did you only get the phone with Afrihost, or data included as well? What is the total outlay with Afrihost?

Got the phone, and FREE SIM loaded every month for 12 months with 500mb data, total cost is the normal retail price of R3599.
So that's a saving then, as you would have to buy 500mb data if you only bought the device. Yes?

Agreed and agreed. I use my 4A mostly for whatsapp+telegram and a few games.

On the other hand, browsing the WWW is better with a larger device (for me). Can always tether a larger device via wifi should I need it.

Biggie best phones/phablets have their place, and it is not in my nasty pocketses.

Just received my dad's Note 4 that I'll be setting up for him. Ordered the 10th on Gearbest, shipped via Aramex and received at 8:00 sharp today (18th)
