Hi I am planning on getting my bro Redmin Note 7. Is this the best I can get at that price?

My 13 year old son loves his Note 7. It’s a quality phone for the price, I don’t think you will get better.
I'd say yes. Even if you find another Chinese branded device with better specs it won't offer better software support than xiaomi.

Can expect an Android Q update for the note 7 this year or next.

Thanks guys. I have ordered from takealot:)

Interesting how Takealot sells the Redmi Note 7 cheaper than MIA, and Takealot has cases for it, but MIA does not. (Although the phone itself comes with a case and screen protector).

Never got a screen protector in my box although it had a silicon cover included.

If you upgrade to Pie and you are on Afrihost you need to do some apn changes. Upgraded last night. Data stopped working today

Bloodsuckers. Thats a huge markup. the 64GB version cost R7999 here and if you look at direct currency conversion the $377 baseline should be ~R5655. So I guess R7999 is the norm for SA pricing markup.

That said this 9T / K20 pricing have turned into premium pricing compared to the original idea. Even the $377 pricetag is retardedly expensive for this phone with a rather crap snapdragon 730 chip.

The Xiaomi Mi 9T which is only set to go official on June 12 is already available for purchase in the Philippines. It's priced at PHP19,500 ($377/€335) for the 6GB/64GB variant and PHP20,500 ($396/€353) for the 6GB/128GB model.

You are right. Would rather get the Mi8 pro for that price.

That's just pure greedy. Bet it will be closer to $300 in a month or two.

Do you think Xiaomi devices will be affected by the US trade war?
I’m concerned about buying a Chinese device and becoming a casualty of the ‘Donald’ by having a non supported version of the Android OS in the future.
Anyone else feeling the same?
