Xiaomi redmi 9T any good?

Getting gatvol with slow performance which I have at the moment.

Nothing special, or would it be better to save up some more and get something like the 9 pro or upcoming 10 series?

I normally keep phones for 5 years or so and need something durable and future proof will help...

My personal opinion is the 9T is kind of in no man's land.
For entry level (below R2.5k) the 9C is a great phone. Then at around R4k, you can get a 9S or a 9 pro which often get marked down, these have better processors than the 9T.
So at R4k I wouldn't buy a 9T.
 
My Redmi 9 is my intro to Android, so I'm still trying to figure out a lot of stuff, in particular, battery use at idle.

I know this is a loaded topic, dependent on apps in use, which radios are active, signal strength, number of notifications received etc etc, but I'm just trying to establish a baseline. When comparing battery use at idle, I'm talking about battery consumption when you're sleeping or otherwise not using your phone for several hours.

I've seen a lot of commentary saying that battery usage at idle of around 1% per hour is usual, but I've also seen plenty of reports of usage of 2 or 3% over an 8-hour period. I'm in the 1% per hour camp.

I've applied the usual remedies, including turning off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scanning.

10:30 pm someone from customer service whatsapped me the tracking number....
 
I guess they know us Rustenburgers gets bosbefok if delivery is late, hence the early delivery.

Better specs, but not using snapdragon which worries me...? 800U chipset any good ?

Difficult to find the 9S or 9 pro these days under R5000
