The Official Xiaomi Thread

Does anyone else have problems receiving WhatsApp calls on their Redmi or other Xiaomi phone? I only have one or two people who call me fairly regularly, and seemingly randomly, the phone doesn't ring at all but will pop up a missed call notification shortly after the calling party has given up and cut the call from their side.

I've tried everything I can think of, including changing default ring tone, changing ringtone location on the phone, delete and reinstall WhatsApp etc and the problem persists.

Not had this problem yet.
Is it while you are on normal cellular data or WiFi?

It has to do with the battery optimization settings...ie: Whatsapp is suspended in the background....

Try to disable battery optimization for the app and any battery saver settings

Forgot to mention that I've checked and triple-checked all the battery optimization settings, those are all set as required. I've just read elsewhere that I need to allow lock screen notifications - my lock screen has been disabled from waking up for notifications, so I've changed that. Will have to wait and see if that helps I guess.

TBH..... I'm never updating a new phone ever again with Play Store updates.....too many issues. If the phone works properly out the box....keep it like that.
 
Google play store is toxic with updates to Android many times. If your phone is working fine don't update ANYTHING.

In firmware they will. My wife has a Vodacom Note 10 Pro and it is way behind my Note 9T.

Ever since I got my Nokia 7250i in 2002 I have seen VodaCom loading neutered firmware to phones. No thanks, I like their network - never their devices.

I get what you mean. Their software cripples a phone.

I chose a VodaCon handset because the 2 year warranty was appealing.

I got my number in 1999 and since then have been on / off contract more than 6 times. Currently back on prepaid with no intention to go back to VC phones.

On the Mi 11 T Pro the battery cell is split into two.

It really is revolutionary, pop the phone on charge when you are in the shower and good to go for the next couple of days.
 
What's your guys thoughts on the Xiaomi 12 series?

The 12 Pro looks good but so does the new OnePlus 10 Pro.
