The Official Xiaomi Thread

My Xiaomi Note 10 Pro starts overheating after taking maybe 20 108M photos.

I hardly take pictures but every time i take pictures i get this overheating warning.
I think I read this in a Youtube comment.

You have to disable the AI feature on the phone and it will stop overheating.

Thank you for the advice, I think the AI feature has always been on. I will try this and tell you if it works.

I have a Huawei Band 6.

It vibrates when I receive a WhatsApp notification or a phone call.

You can probably do the same on a Xiaomi band. View attachment 1220782
Thank you for the suggestion.
I do have a Samsung Gear S3 which is paired to the phone and does notify me of messages/emails when they come in and I can read it on my watch. No problem there. I replaced my older Samsung phone with the Xiaomi Note 10 Pro and miss the notification LED, not just to show if there are new messages but also to check if my phone is charging or completed charging. It's just something I got used. Also sometimes I leave my phone on my work desk or in another room, out of range of the of the watch and will thus not receive the vibration or notification on my watch.

Do any of you have insurance on your device?

Which company do you suggest?

As with our other phones, I have added it to our home content insurance and listed it as a specified item with Santam. If you have home contents insurance then add it to that. Try not to insure via a cellphone company as they're ripoffs.

Interesting doccie on the rise of Xiaomi for those interested..

Been using Xiaomi phones since managing to grab a Redmi Note 2 for R1899 on that epic WeChat launch special couple years ago.

im in Durban & i need someone near me who can help me load Global ROM onto a Redmi Note 4 with Chinese ROM.
ive managed to unlock the phone and ive downloaded the Global ROM - the phone is a MTK version- not the Snapdragon version. ive also download all the software that im told is needed but i cant get it to work right.
i had a Note 4 a few years ago and it got badly damaged- i liked the phone a lot. now i got this one quite cheap but only because its a Chinese ROM- so i need to load Global ROM onto it.
pls advise if you can help.

Some more feedback on the Mi Band 6, GPS reception is not that good when you are not out in the open. I went for a mountain bike ride yesterday and it lost GPS coverage frequently when riding in woods. This is something my phone does not do since it also relies on cellular triangulation for more accurate positioning. Even with good reception out in the open the Mi Band did place my route off the actual track by quite some distance.

How's the band otherwise? Worth a look for someone looking for that kind of a band thing rather than a full-on smartwatch?

My last wearable was this Sony. The Mi band is definitely a good alternative for a watch. It does everything I could want, notifications, tell the time, record workouts, monitor my sleep patterns. At the money it is excellent.

Sounds good. Does it have AOD that works? How's the battery in real life conditions?

I have not found any setting to have it always on, but the lift up detection is great. I have it on max brightness so I can actually see what goes on when outside in bright sunlight, battery for me lasts about 3 days.

Buy a Huawei/Honor band rather.

The software is more reliable & accurate. The honor band is roughly 999 from takealot.

Can one of you buy the Redmi 9c from Ackermans. I'm too broke right now & curious if they will honour the price lol

I called a few stores but they don't have stock. The online site is the best option
