It is very convenient.

I had a Poco that charged its 5 000mah battery from flat to 75% in 30 minutes and flat to full in 45 minutes. That was with their supplied 67W charger.

Because it had amazing battery life, which was probably down to the fact that its screen didn't get very bright and that relatively massive battery, I used to put it on charge when I went to shower in the morning. By the time I was all set to leave for work it used to be fully charged.

I used to take luxurious showers like that too, until I got a job and didn't have time.

I understand the use case, my point is why is it a spec that people seem to care about, my 25w fast charge is enough when i need it, as mentioned I have it turned off 99% of the time anyway. I wouldmuch rather focus on cpu as that dictates much more.

How often do you actually need it to fast charge, The avergae person does not need it.

The average person does not "need" any modern inventions. However, we gladly use them every day because they make things just a bit better...

I think you are not getting what i'm saying, sure these inventions help and are nice to have.
My point is why fixate on super fast charging when in reality it rarely "makes things a bit better"

How often does 120w charging make a difference compared to 50w or 25w ?

For some people sure but for the vast majority it make near no difference, how often do you only have 5-10 min to charge your phone.

Thus my point is get fast charging fine, but don't make it a decifing factor, CPU is much more important

Why limit yourself to CPU if you can get both? Once you've had it, you won't want to go back...

I have my fast charger in my living area and find it quite useful. I often give my phone a 10min boost before leaving to go somewhere in the evening. We live in a country where a flat phone can be a big safety issue.

Like i said I only have 25w fast charging and I disabled it there is no need for my use case, which is the common use case.

Each to his own i guess, I charge my phone overnight, and I have it limitting to 80% charge, this lasts me easily through the entire day, on top of that I can charge the phone literally anywhere I go, whilst in the car or at the office or via powerbank, I never need to though since my phone comfortably lasts the full day.

So if i had to choose I'd choose CPU.
 
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra looks really nice, but I see the ultras are not usually being released officially in South Africa?

NO Redmi Smartphone models are currently shipping to SA with NFC. Xiaomi don't seem to care. They have done it to cut costs, but some customers are being caught as the spec sheets sometime display it as being present! Buyer Beware!

I don't think Xiaomi even has an official channel in SA anymore since Mia closed

The 14 was crap because they used Dimensity instead of Snapdragon. The cameras on their latest phones are ahead of most of the competition.

The issue is that like most of the other Chinese manufacturers, you're paying flagship prices for a flagship phone. Not like the past where they were heavily discounted. Then you may as well just go with Samsung...

Not sure if the cameras really were better, had the note 10 and 11, apparently had 108mp cameras and quality wasn't as good as my p30 pro 48mp

Over in camp Samsung, the most compact flagship device you can get is the Galaxy S25. It is similarly equipped to the Xiaomi 15 in most areas, like the triple rear camera setup. Though, you don't get nearly the same camera prowess here. At least the 6.2-inch AMOLED is comparable in performance. Plus, at current pricing, the Galaxy S25 falls comfortably below the €1,000 point.

Pretty much what I said. Better cameras than most, but if you're paying flagship prices then you may as well go with Samsung for better local support...
