Check if they still have the remaining 33 months warranty.

Check if it's from somewhere reputable also. No one wants to be hassling with the Evetechs of the world if their card dies in month 35.

Thanks guys.

So its worth having a look provided the card is still under warrantee.

Dont miners overclock/undervolt/etc. is there a reset to factory defaults process kinda thing that needs to happen?

1050 ti cards are going for Around R2K on carbonite...

I'm considering it. but then again an extra 500 for absolute peace of mind.... :whistling:

No, power the card off and the OC settings are gone. OC is achieved via software.

You'll have to decide on that one.

Well firstly if you are going to buy low range, then "in the long run" is not really a factor because it will be obsolete within a year from now. What is you budget? Why not go for a 1060 rather? Wait for the 1070ti to get released and then 1070 and 1060 pricing should drop

The 1060 is way over budget and id also need to upgrade the psu. (This could happen in the future but not anytime soon)

Im building a entry level gaming machine thatll do 1080p.

Picked up a dell optiplex 3020 i5 4th gen with 8gb ram. The psu is 290w so the 1050 and 1050 ti are the cards that will work (75w tdp and no pci 6pin required)

I mostly play dota 2 but im gonna start getting into newer games.

Bought the witcher 2 and deadspace 1 and 2 on the halloween sale. Will most def get more titles over the holidays.

Remember that minister of finance (the wife) also comes into play...

I would just wait a while, either for black Friday, or for the 1070ti to land. Might save yourself a few bucks.

oh by the way Ponder....

I managed to move the 3rd gen and pick up a 4th gen i5 for not much more.

So Nice to have Haswell became a reality.... also the PSU is 290w... up from 275 in the 3rd gen

Thanks for that...

The plan is to wait for Black friday, but even so...

Is the ti worth whatever extra over the non ti?

regardless of the price... savings are savings...

imho both are a waste of money. But if you do insist on getting a 1050 then get the ti yes, twice the memory bandwidth

Small form factor, low noise, low power consumption

As to what, idk. Maybe a pre-built one

Anyone seen decent deal on a gtx 1070? I'm coming from a R9 280x and I figure a 1070 would last me a good 5 years. I game at 1080p60, saw the zotac mini 1070 for 6699 at wootware in October, searched black Friday and cyber Monday but found nothing. That same card is now 6999 and was also 6999 on black Friday and cyber Monday.

That's an amazing build . For years that I'm stuck with an old gaming laptop that keeps giving me problems. I'm thinking in getting a good pc for myself, with a budget around R15k-R20k and this build that you showed me, has really everything that I need for a gaming computer that can last me for another 5 years. Will something go wrong with this build? Am I getting a good deal if I follow this setup with my budget?
