So mine not be on the floor? Well maybe a different floor :-)

Imagine my surprise, watching cartoons with my son and I get a phone call. Courier just delivered my parts. Guess I am building my pc today :)

Will do in a bit. It is hard to find time while watching a toddler. Managed to dismantle my old pc, assemble the mobo, cpu, ram and nvme drive over lunchtime while he slept. Will install that into the case tonight and install windows.

post pics!
Should have taken a pic before I opened everything but I couldn't wait. It is a bit stressful assembling a pc if you don't do it often.

That RAM looks awesome though.

Ps. Tapatalk suck with images.

Well that was disappointing. Assembled it into the case, gpu in. Power on, but no display. Gpu fans are spinning, mobo stays on (no boot loop). Now I wonder if the gpu was also damaged with the old mobo? Tried reseating the gpu etc but no luck. Last time something went wrong it went into boot loop, so I don't think it's a short or power issue.

AFAIK new Ryzen processors needs to boot quite a few times for a video signal to display. Also what CPU did you get?

You don't perhaps have another gfx card to test?

What? I turned mine on last year and it booted first time.
Mine had to loop twice before the mobo splash screen appeared, some of the tech Youtubers like Bitwit Kyle also mentioned that it's normal for a new Ryzen CPU to loop up to 4 times or requiring 4 restarts. But once that's over it'll boot up normally everytime

All the MB standoffs in the right place so no shorts?
GPU in top pcie slot? The bottom pcie slot is disabled with the ssd in the top m.2 slot as per photo.

Hi. I have rebooted multiple times, left it on for a few minutes, nothing. I am so frustrated now, I took my old psu, plugged it into my old i5 board that I thought was dead, and it turns on. Added the gpu to it and that works as well. Does go to a uefi shell though instead of bios, I don't know if it is because there is no hard drive plugged in, but maybe it is just damaged. Two weeks back I removed everything from that board and it just went into boot loop. Dead cmos battery maybe?

Anyway, the bottom line is the gpu works, but not in the new pc. I have removed the RAM, tried one at a time, nothing works. The strange thing is it turns on and stays on, it doesn't boot loop to tell you something is wrong.

I was wondering about the pci slot as well. I plugged the nvme into the M2_1 slot which should disable pci slot 4. I have the gpu in the top slot which should be slot 2. Anybody used the Asrock B450 Pro4 board here? According to the manual it is the correct slot.

I also tried the old psu in the new pc, also doesn't display. I am now wondering if the mobo is faulty? Not sure what else to try. Starting to think I should stop messing with pc building.
