the things i cant get with ebuck contribution

case

and then reasonable psu 550/650 modular
Ryzens loooove fast memory, don't cheap out on RAM.

are the Corsair vengence as good as gskill ripjaws?
Honestly not sure, I'd think they'd probably be much the same to be honest, but rather try get the fastest RAM you can get.

I have the Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4-3200s. They run nicely. Stable at 3400 with Infinity Fabric at 1700.

Haven't been able to tighten timings but I'll try export from Thaiphoon and see if that works.

thats one ive listed
with my ebucks comes to 1500
as opposed to the gskil ripjaws 2x8gb 3200 c16 which is about the same price (ie no ebuck redemption)

so i got two quotes to build pc with rebelgaming and chaos computers
they both go with the corsair vengeance 16gb 3200 for the build
im going to get that and tick off list

bloody TA only 2 b450 boards in stock

How does ebucks work? That item says eB24,980 so cant you simply pay for it in full with ebucks?

makro & incredible have nothing to offer, TA have pisspoor offerings. Some of the links provided are out os stock. Still scratching around.

@ponder - feel like helping me with some Thaiphoon goodness? Having exactly zero luck with timings and whatnot.

Hi all!

Look for a little advice here! First off I am Gauteng based but not sure if there are any recommendations for stores elsewhere in the country that ship, I don't mind doing that if they come highly recommended ;)

So my budget for a new gaming rig is around R30000. Obviously the offers from Evetech are pretty attractive, but I am a little concerned about their poor customer service reviews... Should I just go for it? Waiting for them to reply now regarding whether they have stock or not. (I have 2 friends that have bought gaming rigs from them with no complaints!)

Specs I am looking at are as follows:

PSU - Antec VP650
CPU - Ryzen 5 3600
CPU cooler - Antec Neptune 240
Motherboard - MSI X470
Memory - Corsair Vengeance pro 3200MHz 16GB
Graphics - Geforce RTX 2080 Super
SSD - Hikvision E2000 1 TB M.2
Case - Evetech Trio Tempered Glass Gaming case

Any suggestions on changes to make? Or places to buy?

Thanks a lot!

Hi and welcome.

Suggestion 1 - Evetech have as many negative reviews as they do for a reason. I for one will never use them again, despite their excellent pricing. It isn't worth the hassle.

Suggestion 2 - Use Wootware. They're solid with decent pricing and excellent support / service.

What screen will you be using? What resolution?

The only thing I would change would be to add additional storage - 1TB doesn't last very long these days.

I will be adding some storage from my current PC - a regular 1TB HDD. I am using a Dell 144HZ monitor at 1080p at the moment. Happy to stick with that at least for now!

I have checked wootware out, but a whole lot of what I want doesn't appear to be in stock? Do they have decent lead times? And I see rebeltech appears to be no more :(

It has been many many years since I have bought a gaming rig!

Don't fall for this trap :(

Buy from wootware, dreamwaretech or even computer mania lol

It's a bit hard without access, you need to fiddle around & keep trying. Sometimes you just can't squeeze more. Yours is better than rated already. Have you tried exporting from typhoon and importing to dram calculator yet?

You can Teamviewer in if you like.

I have exported from Thaiphoon and imported into DRAM Calculator. Something seems funky though. Could be I'm being a noob. My RAM does OC, but I couldn't tighten timings even at stock. i think that's my noobishness though.
