That's a big desk :-). Mine is in the middle and covers 75% of the desk.

The commodity market has two drivers: Service and Price. Evetech wins on price most of the time. On service, they are ok-ish. Add a global pandemic, or an event like Christmas or Black Friday, their service goes to ground, Useless, non-existent, use any appropriate verb. It's like they didn't exist. Returns, they are OK as well, to be fair. Haven't had to return anything under a pandemic, I can only imagine it will get far worse.
So for most times, when the going is good, the price sweet, and you have no delivery deadlines, use Evetech by all means. If service delivery (past the sales service) is ultra important, go somewhere else. If it is Christmas or Black Friday, use them but do not expect a response for 3-5 weeks, and then you maybe (if you are lucky) get an email telling you how hard they are working under the load. A promise of things to come. Frustrating, I know. Their service does not buckle, but just disappears. They don't bother answering phones or email. Why should they? After all, they have you tied up in a deal, you have committed funds, and can no longer walk away. They have got you where they want you. Frustrating? Yes. Infuriating? Absolutely.

Caveat Emptor. Only buy from them if you have confirmed that they have stock and that they can deliver today. Not in 3 weeks time, like during a christmas rush.

I would also suggest using your own courier of choice. My order shipped on time but was sitting in the Aramex warehouse in my town for a couple of days until I decided I had enough and went to pick it up instead.

They are pretty quick with their deliveries, will give them that. Most of my two machines are from them.

Been waiting about 19 days for a delivery. Their phone number doesn't go through ever and still waiting on email replies. Do I just give up with life and lament the loss of thousands I spent?

Just a heads up to anyone thinking of buying anything at Evetech. Don't.

I Bought 20k worth of upgrade kit from Evetech. They delivered the incorrect items twice. Each time I had to fill out the RMA form ect and it takes weeks to return anything.

Also - You cannot get through to them via their telephone line. They advise emailing them but they take days to reply on email and not helpful at all.

After one month I still don't have the correct items. This is the absolute worst service I had ever experienced.

In the mean time, I ordered many items from Wootware and they delivered within 36 hours on multiple orders. They are friendly and reachable.

Just don't Buy at Evetech.

I must be lucky:
  • Bought two laptops on a Saturday and paid via EFT
  • Confirmed order same day
  • Delivered on Wednesday (was supposed to be Tuesday but courier's fault)
Could source same laptops via other channels but lead times were in weeks.

I did not have to wait too long but I will never buy from them again, I ordered a ryzen 3900x and 32gb ram, the cpu didn't come in its normal packaging it was clearly used and had a bent pin luckily I straightened it and it works fine. They were always my first pick no longer. I know they tried to put in some effort for me to get my product asap but to send a used half packed product at full price was a slap in the face.

Good day

Please note that As the unit was bought (17 Dec2018)a depreciation value will apply, as (HYPER X) sees it as fair usage of the component.

Basically it says items can depreciate up to 5 years for a total value of 40%

Meaning an item drops roughly 8.021% of its total paid value

That with the changing rand/dollar means item pricing changes, and items lose value in the segment as new units are produced, could also have an influence

I don't have the documentation in regards to the process, and again only showed this as a reference to make you understand why you are getting a bit less on your almost 2-year-old product

when rma at evetech they even credit you less for the item now lol

Bought a gaming chair from Evetech last week (working from home during lockdown) arrived in 3 days.

Totally reasonable time imho.

Friends motherboard arrived, no IO shield or anti static bag on the motherboard?? Probably sold him a used board.
Looks like an Intel board, also are you sure it needs an IO shield? My Gigabyte Aorus doesn't have an IO shield, the whole io has a built in one, looks similar to that board, but a massive heat sink over the vrms.

oooh I'd send it back to get a new board, especially not anti-static bag, also doesn't seem to be any bubble wrap.

Right yeah forgot that, thought by now they'd be a little easier to get ahold of, seeing as staff are technically allowed back.
