When you guys order from Wootware, do you go with Dawn Wing or the other courier? I usually go with Dawn Wing because they’re cheap, but their drivers are incredibly lazy.

I just just missed my delivery once, passed the driver as I was coming home, and saw that there was a missed call on my phone. So I call back and he tells me that he has already left the area, he’ll come tomorrow.

This morning I call to tell them that I have an appointment but I won’t be gone longer than an hour , just in case the delivery is attempted while I’m out. I get home, and I see the van pass by from my living room. So I call them and they say that the delivery was marked as failed and that the driver will come back tomorrow. Which means he saw the note and didn’t even bother to check if I was home before leaving.

I hope FastWay are better.

Just had 30k worth of stock delivered via FedEx from woot without issue and driver was excellent. Woot FedEx again.

Open a complaint with Woot and Dawn Wing.

I think it is very driver depending because a previous order (months a go) from Loot the fedex driver literally dropped it off at the complex gate with security because he couldn't be bothered to dial a few buttons / try to contact myself.

I had no issue with Dawnwing, Fastway though generally have a terrible reputation.
As Herr mentioned it is often dependent on the driver that services your area more than the actual courier.

Which AIO Cooler would you recommend, as well as supplier for(budget R2k-R3k):

CPU: Intel Core i9-12900K
MBD: Gigabyte Z690 GAMING X DDR4 (rev. 1.0)

I currently have:

CPU: Intel Core i9-10900F
MBD: Gigabyte Z590 GAMING X

Running on an AOI CoolerMaster ML240, temps running at 90-92C on full load.

That's a pretty decent(2 x 120mm fans?) AIO you already have why does it still run that hot?

Maybe also look at a Noctua cooler like an NH-D15, they can match an AIO and run just as quiet if not better and "only" R1800, Rebeltech I think stock them.

And I’m up and running.

Moved rad to top but kept it as intake.

Card is freaking and made it extremely difficult to install the front fan. The card and the fan are actually touching. Possibly going to see if there is a thinner fan available, so that I can mount it more on the fan side of the GPU

So this runs fantastically :D

Playing GoW, 4K DLSS quality with ultra settings.
FPS around 70-75, GPU temp about 80-84, cpu cores around 60-70.

My controller keeps disconnecting though, I can hear those windows sound when a device is plugged in/out. Possibly something with the front USB, will try find a longer usb-a to usb-c cable.

Thank god for headphones with good seals, this thing is LOUD

How loud are we talking here?

For example, my 1080Ti is slightly louder full tilt than my Ryzen 3700X stock fan, but it doesn't really bother me.
My old R9 290 was unpleasantly loud, so much so that my friends could hear it over discord.

Not as loud as a kettle at full tilt, but definitely much louder than every other component.

I must check in afterburner, because maybe my fans are pegged at 100% i.e. there is no curve.

Seems it is "common"

not mine, but similar - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gRo4iD-RAFKjpGitL7j6O6EIMVMt8jKR/view

possibly an under volt is in order

That's interesting to hear.
I have the palit gamerock 3080ti & the fans rarely spin faster than idle when I'm gaming.

Have you got a side panel on your case? That recording sounds like the mic was put right next to the fan.

DW?

I have side panels on, yes. That is not my recording.

Definitely going to add some more stats to the Afterburner overlay to see what's happening.

DW=DawnWing

I've noticed a lot of inconsistencies with the 30 series cards and cooling
back when we (my friend circle) all had 3080 cards, we all had the same brand (Palit 3080 GamingPro OC)
Their cards all ran cool and quiet, max temps of low 70s~, low fan speeds and fans turned off in idle.
My card even with power limits easily hit 85 degrees, with the fans at 100% tilt, and fanstop never worked until I reflashed the bios on the card. (idle temps were good!)

We all traded up for 3080ti LHR cards, mine runs cool and quiet, but my friends card runs like a jet trying to take off, my fans will rarely leave the 30% idle speed while gaming.

yeah, seems exactly what I am experiencing, sounds like a jet.

will gather more stats and then decide on a way forward

So playing with under-volting made a huge difference to temps and noise.

Stock looks to be around 1920mhz @ 1081mV
I ended up at 1920mhz @ 850mV

Afterburner before
GPU temp - 82C
Power - 280-290W
Fan speed - 89%

Afterburner after
GPU temp - 73C
Power - +-210W
Fan speed - 74%

This was all "measured" using Heaven 4 @ 4K Ultra Quality, Extreme Tessellation, 8x AA

1-2 FPS less

Havent tried any games yet, but have had Heaven running for about an hour at the new settings.

I still think maybe those fan speeds and temps are high, but maybe Zotac just doesnt have a great thermal solution.

My buddy has the same GPU, CPU and case as me, so I am waiting to hear what he is getting stock.

Question: Once a profile/setting is applied/saved in MSI Afterburner, does it persist to the GPU across system restarts? Or do I always need to start Afterburner and apply the profile?

Good results

From what I've seen, the profile you've saved will have it's settings applied but just the voltage and clock settings - that's if you use the "apply overclock settings" at start-up option, even without Afterburner starting.

The fan curve option doesn't apply for me for some reason so I still let Afterburner start up with Windows. Even if I enable the "use firmware control" option, the fan curve goes back to default. Dunno what that's about.
