Found a B550 motherboard on takealot (used them cause had some ebucks to reduce the cost )
Just curious why you didn't exchange those Ebucks for real cash and not limit yourself to Takealot?

Otherwise that's not a a bad setup at all.
Total cost of the machine within budget?

CD Projekt Red's upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 update, launching on April 11th, will bring the technology preview of the Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode, one with path tracing, or as Nvidia now calls it, "full ray tracing". Nvidia has now released a few new screenshots and a trailer, showing some of those impressive new effects.

Of course, those things come at a price, and full ray tracing requires some serious hardware, and that is where Nvidia comes in with the recently introduced Shader Execution Reordering (SER), which speeds up those incoherent workloads, Real-Time Denoisers (NRD), which improves both performance and image quality, and, of course, DLSS 3, which certainly helps in pulling a bit more frame rates. Nvidia recommends Geforce RTX 40 series for Cyberpunk 2077's Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode, mostly due to support for SER and DLSS 3.

I can hear my graphics card crying :P

Same here

First time hearing this

just sell ebucks on forum and someone pay you real cahs, i do this every month
I was thinking of the App but you can use @Gtx Gaming method too, might get more for it.
Here's some screenshots of where to find what I'm talking about, although I don't have any ebucks at the moment to complete any exchanges

Ebucks.png

Usually where it shows "Earn more eBucks" on the very right image, you can exchange for cash back into the account you made the purchase from

Thanks never knew this

So assuming you can claim the purchases but it has to be from an ebucks partner ? Or no any purchases can work

Thats a recommendation. Its personal classifieds, so not affiliated to any company, however you can get some good deals there
They work on an iTrader rating system, so be sure to check out peoples ratings when dealing with them. As you'd be new there yourself I recommend finding deals within your area so you can inspect/test goods before you exchange money. Also don't fall for the pay half now pay half later scams, anyone trying to pull that will just run off with your money.

Good luck

No problem,

yeah the only eBucks partner I've really dealt with is Engen. So i'm not so sure about others but its worthwhile having a look. If you have R500 worth of eBucks in your account (it can be any amount actually), try throwing in some fuel to that value when you need to again then "cashing" out when it reflects on the FNB app, comes in handy from time to time

Finally managed to complete my inverted build

Definitely a fun build all in all, think Im done with upgrades for awhile though. Unfortunately no RGB to make it perform 50% faster. Perhaps if I get time this weekend I'll just clean those dirty fans but for now I reckon its time to just enjoy playing some games xD

I have an old PC with better specs that I just put in a shipping container and is taking with me. If I thought I could get even R4K for it I would have taken the money and ran while cackling like Dr Evil.

But...it's all upside down

“Inverted”.

Stranger Things themed.

Also original ATX spec is supposedly with the PSU on top?
I mean technically I guess, with the fan done to draw cool air in and blow over the CPU, but you could do this in the old desktop chassises as well.

I have an old desktop that is giving up the ghost (random BSODs) with different messages every time. I still need to pull each component out and reseat. But it looks like I need to at least upgrade the motherboard, CPU and RAM.

My money has all gone to setting up solar this year, so scraping together what I can every month. I do some light gaming, word processing and hobbyist programming. My main aim is to have a system that will last, so value for money Intel CPU at least 4 threads (Linux didn't like AMD last I looked), lots of last generation RAM (16GB upgrading to 32) and a cheap but decent mobo.

I have a recent laptop but I use it for work only.

Not sure if there is a question in here. Are you looking for advice on what to buy or just letting us know your situation?
