Will soon be in the market for a new GPU, I have a GTX 1070, looking for something strong that i can keep for a long time to come, like i have the 1070.
The 4070 Super or RX 7900 GRE seem to be top teer in my budget.
Any advice ? It's been a long time since I looked at GPU's, I am looking at getting a high refresh rate 1440p 27" monitor in the future as well.

4070 Super would be the better buy especially if raytracing is a requirement.

Yeah 3060 or 7600 be great.
Rather try go 4060 if possible, it's 110w vs the 170w of the 3060 (20% faster as well and it's like R400 more). Plus rather get a 5600 instead of the 5500

The SSD you would need to choose :). But this would be a bit of a better build, B550 instead of B450, 5600 instead of 5500 and the 4060 instead of the 3060. I mean you could still go 5500 and B450 to shave off R2k

At this price point, B450/B550 won't make any difference to the user. Go for the cheaper one. DDR4-3200 CL30 would be a better choice IMHO, the faster RAM won't pay dividends. As for the 4060...that card should not exist. It's also 8GB VRAM as opposed to 12GB on the 3060. Not currently an issue at 1080p, but possibly an issue up the line.

The extra 4GB isn't going to make a difference on the 3060, but what will is the 20% better performance and 65% better power consumption on the 4060, for R400 more?
Also the only B450 on Wootware is a R1400 one that isn't great, the next one up is the same price as the B550

Same as the RAM the difference between 3600 and 3200 is marginal

You could probably shave a few rands off by choosing plain heatsink ram instead of rgb ram in that build, also quite a few rands more with 2 x 8gb ram especially if that mobo supports 4 dimm slots.

Much like one of these (fully assembled):

Very good builds, the only thing that needs to change is the psu.

Aa it is probably raidmax 550watt or atom v550 being used, which both sound like A 747 at takeoff when there is any load on the pc. They don't have in-between fan profiles. They just go full tilt :(

Antec VCP plus is much quiter psu.

I wouldn't configure a PC with a graphics card using a Raidmax PSU if you paid me. Atom isn't much better. It's neither - it's an FSP unit :)

The Raidmax 1000w is probably enough to reliably run an Atom CPU, though

The RX 7900 GRE does show that Nvidia’s RTX 4070 and even AMD’s Radeon RX 7800 XT are a little overpriced. AMD is launching the RX 7900 GRE worldwide in the same way it does with many of its other cards, with cards available from Acer, ASRock, Asus, Gigabyte, PowerColor, Sapphire, and XFX.
If the $549 pricing holds, then it’s bound to put pressure on Nvidia to respond because the combination of Fluid Motion Frames and the RX 7900 GRE’s 1440p performance is a very tempting combo for anyone looking to upgrade to 1440p.

What are the chances. I legit had an order for one not 15 minutes ago.

Hi guys and girls

What can you get for 5k second hand?
Keyboard, mouse, Os and monitor included. No gaming at all. Just streaming, browsing and general use. Or would a laptop be better?

Haven't been following the "pc game" for a long time. I don't know what to look for. Getting overwhelmed just browsing Carb.
