Yeah, but performance wise its exactly the same as normal Sata, unless you go M.2 PCI, Only then can you see a big difference, even more so if you buy 2 and go Raid :p , But I think "Salroin" is looking at budget, in which case M.2 Sata is really not worth it.
The price does not come in with the actual drives here, a M.2 MB is much more expensive than a non M.2 MB.

Yep, that is true I guess. Still I wouldn't go for a board with only 2 DIMM slots unless you're putting in 16GB or more to start with. 8GB is on the verge of being just too little imo and having the option to upgrade later on is really worth it.

And that's exactly why i suggested he goes for this with the money he saves on the MB :phttp://www.rebeltech.co.za/1866-213...suppo.html?search_query=16gb+2133&results=128

You know what, I still like this,
My build since these very nice people showed me carbonite.

Gigabyte motherboard, I5 4590 CPU and 2 x 4GB 1600Mhz ram, new, bundle - R3200
Gigabyte 760 Windforce Gpu secondhand - R1800
Antec 750W Gaming Psu Bronze rated + - R750
Grand Total - R5750

The PC performs exceptionally well. Plays anything I throw at it. I must add that I have a 20" LG Screen and don't and cant do 1080P on it. But those prices on carb is very good.

It might not be the latest stuff but it will allow you to get a monster GPU from all the savings which will kill that new skylake build I listed when it comes to gaming.

The i5 4590 is actually faster than the i5 6500 and it will make zero difference in games, with the money he saves he can buy a GTX 980 which will just about double his FPS in all games.

GTX 960 vs GTX 980

I forgot to add he already bought a 280x, he'll be reusing some parts from his older machine. Those listed are the parts that are needed to finish the new one.

hehe thanks. I actually have a Gigabyte Gtx 760 on this system, it does what I want it to. But yeah maybe next year I might get the 480 or a way cheaper 970/980. :)

Wasn't going to say anything but... my thoughts exactly.

Also a R2200 motherboard for a CPU that can't overclock. I'm sensing he is going for style over substance.

I just copied and pasted it as is from the parts he chose. Do you have any recommendations to a better set of parts?

Those are not really 'parts' per se but accessories which he is spending a schiteload of money on and will contribute fsckall to his fps scores. He's obviously after image & looks and that's not something we can help with. You see this quite often on the net where someone builds a pc with a fancy case, led lighting, water cooling etc etc and then puts an i3 on a z series MB with a 750ti gpu. But hey it looks good to them and if that is what matters to you it's ok as it's your money.

Ask your friend if he really need a mouse and mouse pad combo that costs more than the CPU.

I'm sad to say but seeing as he already has a GPU it's a bit late to ask now, for the price he paid for the 280X and the money he could've saved on "cool looking" accessories he could've bought a GTX 970 or R9 390, which would've given him ~20FPS more in most games.
