Nothing wrong with Galax (I own one) but wait a bit is what I'm gonna say. The AMD RX480 will be out end of this month I think and it should be at a lower price with expected performance in the same ballpark.

Awesome!

My daughters modified old case so far. What must still be done is memory card reader and DVD Writer. Almost finished.

Hi guys I've been contemplating whether I should build a new PC for school and gaming,
I have a budget of R6000 and already have a 1TB WD Blue a Gtx 750Ti 2gb + Deepcool Tesseract SW (white) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16811853004

I took a look at www.gtxgaming.co.za and found a i7 4790 and but seem more interested in their bundle option here.
http://www.gtxgaming.co.za/index.php?route=product/product&path=63&product_id=109

I only have one requirement no AMD pls pls pls :)
Please advise if you have anything to share

You don't really need an i7 for gaming (with a few exceptions) as an i5 will be fine. You can pick up i5-4590+MB+8GB RAM on carbonite for R2800-R3200. See what PotterH has on offer. With the savings flog your GPU and get a better GPU.

^^, yeah. Also need to budget for a PSU...if he can find someone flogging a pre-Skylake build on carbonite, he'd be fine for budget.

Can someone recommend me a new chassis and power supply for around R1000? Nothing too big, chassis doesn't have to be fancy, can be plain black, USB 3 up front would be nice. PSU around 400W.

Hi guys, is it worth going for and i5 6500 and ddr4 compared to my 3570k and ddr3 1600mhz

Nope. The 3570k is better at stock and you have the option of overclocking it to get even further ahead of the 6500.

^^, Even longer possibly...single thread performance improvements in the CPU space are pretty slow the last few years (Sandy Bridge onward). I realise I didn't ask you're using the PC for...is it something that benefits from more threads?

Evening ppl. I need some advice on a new build. Old setup was an I3 with DDR2 800mhz ram. It served me well but I need to move on. Main uses would be for Autocad, Photoshop & Vmware. I am considering M.2 NVMe ssd. What do you think of this? Not sure if I should start a new thread for my questions.
