I have a Zotac GeForce 1050Ti, no problems. Can run almost all games unless you want 4k or VR gaming.

How does this look below, an adaption of the previously posted spec.

R1099 - Gigabyte H310M S2H Intel H310 Coffee Lake LGA1151 Micro ATX Desktop Motherboard
R729 - EVGA 100-W1-0500-KR 500W Desktop Power Supply
R4399 - Asus GeForce GTX 1060 Dual-GTX1060-6G
R989 - Western Digital WDS240G2G0B WD Green 240GB M.2 2280 SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Drive

R13063 total with the changes, bit more but way more performance

I'm assuming the pc is not close to the router so an ethernet cable is not an option?

Will that motherboard take advantage of the max memory speed you selected there.

https://www.evetech.co.za/repository/ProductImages/asus-prime-h310m-a-intel-motherboard-730px-v1.jpg

Image there says it supports max 2666Mhz

Also the H310 motherboards do not support PCI-E 3.0?

Yes it does 2666MHz RAM.

What do you need PCI-E 3.0 for? A GTX 1080 Ti will show basically no difference in performance between the two bus revisions. It's not something you should consider or worry about.

Apologies, just read that again and wondered why you asked that and then I realised that you were referring to;

I'm not sure if this precludes you from OC'ing the RAM to above those values in the advanced options of the BIOS as per page 2-3. My gut says yes.
SYNERGY can you shed some light?

TBH, I'm a bit confused about this myself.

It does support XMP Profiles...Off to google the chipset.

Hi guys,

Thank you for the input you all gave. It DEFINITELY made a difference. I went forth and read more reviews etc and settled on the following build that I was most comfortable with in terms of price vs performance etc.

I am very happy with the build thus far and it is performing great. :) Arrived and built it on Tuesday.

2x Dell P2417H 23.8" LED IPS Monitors
Phanteks Eclipse P300 Tempered Glass Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Desktop Chassis
Intel Core i5-8400 2.8GHz Hex Core
Gigabyte B360 HD3 Intel B360 Coffee Lake Motherboard
Palit GeForce GTX 1060 Dual 3GB GDDR5 PCI-E 3.0
Crucial Ballistix Sport LT White 16GB (2x8GB) 2666MHz DDR4
Western Digital Blue 500GB 3D NAND SATA 6Gb/s M.2
WD Blue 2TB 3.5" SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Internal Hard Drive
D-Link Wireless AC1200 Dual Band PCI-E Adapter
Corsair 550W PSU

So after just about 4 years without a PC (have PS4, which sucks balls and a Macbook Air), I decided it's time to build myself a new rig. The nerd in me needs it.

Now I had NO idea computer parts got so bloody expensive and had to get everything. Built it this weekend and it's freakin awesome:

Thermaltake Core V1 Case
Corsair K55 RGB Keyboard
Cooler Master MasterLiquid Lite 120 CPU Cooler
MSI Z370I GAMING PRO CARBON AC Motherboard
Intel Coffee Lake i5-8600K CPU
Raidmax Thunder RGB 735W PSU
ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1060 AMP! Edition
CORSAIR DARK CORE RGB Performance Wired / Wireless Gaming Mouse
TEAM NIGHT HAWK RGB DDR4-3000 16GB Kit RAM
Western Digital Green SSD 240GB

Building in a Mini-ITX case is quite challenging, but the case is pretty cool. Will post pics later :)

Looks like we made the same decision at the same time. :) Also ~4 years without a PC until this week. :)
