The guys I like are rebeltech, wootware and titan ice. Generally use Titan Ice as they are pretoria based so easier for me to deal with regarding any issues.

I'm quite partial to Super Flower but any higher up model from a good brand will do.

That 500W one is a new product so I have not seen any reviews on it yet but their products usually get good reviews and you get a 5yr warranty. Just for the record your build as specced has an absolute max power draw of ~250W which it will never reach so 500W is ample.

Yeah that R5 2600 6C/12T is really good value for money compared to the i5 8400 6C/6T which costs R550 more and you can overclock the 2600 ;)

PS Just confirm you can run that RAM at the higher speeds on that MB.

Added to cart. Thanks Ponder. Going to be a bitching rig this I think. I've been putting a new machine off for probably 3 years now which was just a well because last year during all that heavy rain in KZN my apartment got flooded and my old machine went under about 4 feet of water. Been struggling along since then. Anyway time to take the dive.

Hi Guys,
Looking for a new mobo and cpu......previous i7 and mobo is ded!
Need it for work and a bit of Fortnite, unfortunately cannot wait for new AMD due to work requirements.
See that the prices on the Ryzen 1700 is quite good now(R3500) with low power draw as well, or should i get a newer Ryzen 5 or intel I5?
and suggestion on mobo please(micro atx).
Parts still working:
Seasonic 650w psu
16gb cosair vengeance 3200mhz
Sapphire RX580 nitro 8gb
Micro atx box with 4 120mm fans

I see that CPU just dropped to R2999, if your order has not shipped yet check if the price dropped else remove and add back to basket.

I've just gone for a
Ryzen 2600
1660 GTX
Would be interesting to see the differences :)

Why buy a 9600k if you can't overclock it?

I got a large discount if I took it in this exact config. I can still go out and a new mobo, and it will still cost me less overall. For now this works, don't think I need to overclock in the near/medium term

Initially I was working on a Ryzen 7 and 590 build, but this came in a lot less than that. I paid 12000 Rand total (excluding the 1TB SSD), the Ryzen was coming in at 20000 and the one with the overclocking compatible board close to 19000

I am currently living outside of ZA, so take prices with a pinch of salt.
