You'll have to download the MB manual and verify.

Each to their own.

One of those coolermaster hyper 212 etc type coolers will be fine.
Seeing as you said you'll be playing at 1080p an rtx3060 is not really needed, a 1660 super will be fine. amd 6700xt will probably be better but don't worry about that now as you're buying the gpu last.

You're welcome & only a pleasure. Btw would you be interested in some 80's disco balls and smoke machines...?
You'll have to download the MB manual and verify. ----- I will definetly do so

One of those coolermaster hyper 212 etc type coolers will be fine. -------------- That's what I had in mind initially before these RGB thing. The coolermaster hyper 212 black edition.

Seeing as you said you'll be playing at 1080p an rtx3060 is not really needed, a 1660 super will be fine. ------------- Exactly my point, I don't really need a high end card like RXT 3060 for 1080, i will just be wasting resources. My monitors are only 1080 and I have no plans of getting new monitors.

Btw would you be interested in some 80's disco balls and smoke machines... ------ Ooooh no, not at this moment, I'm sorry.

If you really want a "cool" effect for your cpu cooler, have a look at this argb unit. I have one on my Ryzen 5600x and temps never exceed 70 degrees. It comes with a controller that allows control via the motherboard argb or it's own unit. It can also be used to monitor the cpu temperature. Lights are blue when the cpu is cold, moving to red as temps increase.

If you're going for an AMD ryzen chip the stock cooler is actually fine, I've got the Stealth cooler on my 2600 and 1600af without issues.
i think I will use the Stealth Cooler for sometime and I can do the upgrade later on, thanks for this advice.

This is the cooler I had in mind, I checked the reviews and I was sold immediately.

- I really can't afford RTX 3060 unless it's a second hand and I'm not a fan of second had computer equipments, people usually sell them because they are close to dying

This is really not true. Firstly, it is almost impossible to tell if some PC part is close to dying, unless it's a noisy fan. There are just some people that upgrade often, even young people. There was a 10 year period that most of the stuff I bought was used, and I can't remember a used part ever failing on me.
Same with the stuff I sold or gave away. Even my 7.5 year old PowerColor GPU R9 290 that was used for mining for a 4 month stint is still going strong.

Agreed, I bought a few second hand parts over the years and even sold them on as third hand, never a moments trouble. Cleaned them up and new thermal paste where needed.

Maybe I was just unlucky the few times

Will try the second hand

Whooo finally found the solution to my update hanging at 61%, was stuck on build 1909 and did not want to format lol

Seems some audio drivers gives an issue, found the issue on reddit. Just removed my sennsheiser headset and could update then!

Lol when you update unplug all usb devices except mouse&kyb, this happens quite often.

What is the cheapest available graphics card that can output 4K@60Hz?

really interested in possibly moving off my i7 skylake notebook onto a desktop zen 3 6+ core setup, but they require dedicated graphics.

The GT 1030 has HDMI 2.0 so that will work for local 4K HDR but Netflix 4K has some odd DRM requirements that disqualifies (the VRAM buffer on the GPU has to be 3Gb+).

If you're just looking at it as a work machine then the media stuff doesn't matter.

Great thanks. Yes, just looking to drive a 4K monitor @ 60Hz

Hi Guys

Need some recommendations for a new monitor, I'm running a Geforce RTX 3070, so would like at least 1440p.
Have about R10K to spend?

In SA, Dell S2721DGF

Second this, got the S2721DGF in Jan for my 3080 and it's made the experience worth it. 1440p and 165Hz is a great combo, and the monitor itself worked perfectly for me out of the box.

Hey guys, I have a cooling question ......

I was looking at either the Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black for it's simple effectiveness or the Kraken x53 AIO 240mm if I'm feeling fancy on the day, lol. Thoughts on these choices? The new case is the Phanteks P600S and the mobo is a Z490 Aorus Elite AC (Socket LGA 1200) - is there any cooling to totally avoid for this setup? As in too large and cramped or just not very good, etc?

Been looking at some RTX 3060 and I don't understand why the pricing differs so much ?

Most seem to have the same clock speed and cudo cores only the boost clock differs. Now if I havce a choice between paving R 10 500 and R 16 000 for the same thing surely I take the cheaper option or does the boost speed make a big difference ?
