The 11600K and the 5600x are a I win one you win one situation, Intel is cheaper and AMD uses less power.

Aussie Steve says get the 10600(KF) in his review :D

He was comparing pricing in the States and Australia for the 11600K, 5600X and 10600K/KF and in those regions, the 10600KF gives the best price-to-performance.

Decent pricing by Intel for the new parts...AMD is now officially the more expensive option.

Maybe try get a different brand of RAM and test that before-hand. Could be some compatibility issue possibly.
Yeah, could be, 3600mhz G.Skill (F4-3600C16D-32GVKC) not on the QVL - https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B550 Phantom Gaming 4ac/index.asp#MemoryVM

I do have an old G.Skill 2x8GB 2666mhz kit in my Skylake system, but that is not on the list too anyway.

Already taken the board up and packed it up for pick-up, along with RAM, so probably just going to let them sort it out, as I don't HAVE to have the system running today :)

I remember the good old days when you chose a MB and memory and it just works

Will check latest pricing but generally a decent Intel Mobo is more expensive than an decent AMD mobo so the combo might cost the same

The usual case of Intel being better for single core, and AMD being better at multicore?
Actually no the 5 series from AMD closed that gap, problem is the Intel chip is cheaper.

Kinda...

Single core:

As for which is faster most of the time:

5600X is too expensive though. Will have to see what 11600K pricing looks like in SA when prices settle. In SA the 10600K is also too expensive at the moment.

Jirre, grab some popcorn and watch GN's 11900K review...brutal.

Something about his voice/way he talks that irritates the crap out of me and then there's the constant hair flicking. I can't watch his videos, I'd rather read their articles.

Steve went straight savage on Intel. Deservedly so. Was kak funny though.

Unfortunately Linus is on leave and Anthony did the Intel review for LTT.. no sick burns there, sadly..

So basically they're back on 14nm and have just re-engineered Ice Lake. I'll just stick to AMD, I reckon.

Update on my PC build.

Wootware delivered my Phanteks P500A DRGB case. I haven’t really powered it up because there is still of components missing. I just put on my Coolermaster PSU.

The case is huge and comes with three 140mm front fans. There is no fan at the back but that is not a big deal.

It was my first time buying from Wootware but the service was of great level.

This pc is so unbalanced. a overkill motherboard with a last gen ryzen chip. Rather go 5600x and a bit cheaper motherboard.

Hi Neils. I totally agree with you. I will upgrade the CPU at a later stage.

I also upgraded about a year ago, before that I was on a 10yo box. The difference to a Phanteks/modern case is amazing, cable management and drive installation is probably 20x easier now.
