What's a mid/high Intel PC build these days? Decent mobo etc. No Overclocking so non K is perfect. GPU wise I was thinking 3060ti.
Also where can I get solid Screen mounting arms in CPT?
Budget around R30k all in
Ok so we a small development team and they told me they thinking of getting a new server. Currently we using an old equvalent i7-3770 xeon server and a bit dated. There will be Virtual machines run via hyper-v for testing and other stuff so was thinking of getting a PC instead as a server is way to expensive. We not to worried of uptime etc.
Is it a good idea to do it? I know many desktop motherboards don't have ECC support but that's not such a big deal and by the time we going to buy it DDR5 will be out and it has ECC sort of build in as a standard
Hi, sorry forgot to mention he does not want a micro-ATX mobo , updated it now, thank you
Reliability is one thing but not a deal breaker. I'm sure gaming is going to be more stressful on the system than any of the Virtual machines together. I just don't want to struggle when having many Virtual; machines running. Are you not worried about stuff like reliability? If your server dies, what will you do?
You don't need stuff like maintenance etc?
If it is purely a machine to run long running tasks on, then I'd suggest a 16 core AMD 5950X with 64GB of RAM. Should be a massive upgrade over your current machine.
If you need more firepower, go Threadripper 32 core with 128GB of RAM.
What are the better websites to look for PC parts?
I need to build a mid tier AMD system.

Anybody knows how the stock cooling is on that 5600G? AMD's of the past didn't fair well with stock heatsink and fan.
In past? Like pre ryzen? As the stock coolers are fine on the Ryzens, only one that's just okay is the Wraith stealth, but I'm using 2 and they are fineAnybody knows how the stock cooling is on that 5600G? AMD's of the past didn't fair well with stock heatsink and fan.
Yes, like I have the FX-8320, had to buy myself a mother of a heatsink and fan. On the stock heat sink, the warning notifications would pop-up while a game starts launching. In past? Like pre ryzen? The 8320 probably uses twice the power the 5600G does under load so there's a lot less heat to dissipate.Yes, like I have the FX-8320, had to buy myself a mother of a heatsink and fan. On the stock heat sink, the warning notifications would pop-up while a game starts launching.
Thanks, good to know. Looks like I'll be upgarding my 10 year old PC, soon.
