Ordered my new rig from wootware. Ryzen system with 5950x and 128GB ram. Using my 3080 RTX. Psyched!
With RAM as cheap as chips right now, I'd also go that high, looking at getting another 16 to bolster my current 16, the RAM normally hovered around R2k now it's almost at the price I paid for the cheaper variant last year.

Must say. That's a welcome bonus. 128GB was going to happen irrespective. 64GB just not cutting it

What do you need that much ram for? I mean I am aiming at 32Gbs cause the one game I play moans about memory on a huge map.

Rendering mostly. 3ds Max and Corona (yes like the beverage) renderer. Corona uses a ton of ram in big scenes. And slows down when you hit hard drive cache. It's very easy to run up 64gig ram usage.

Ah yeah okay rendering does need a lot of RAM, one of my systems thanks to the RAM cheapness is sitting at 512GB, my boss at first was like why so much RAM, I was like while it's cheap lets cram the thing as much as budget allows.

We're on the verge of DDR4 becoming last-gen
Expect to see plenty of DDR5 from the 4th of november.

Now we just need the same thing to happen for GPUs

You thought Evetech had a bad rep :-) pclinkshop you may get your product.

Apparently Evetech gets better if you go and pickup whereas pclinkshop.co.za probably the same. I've recently ordered pclinkshop.co.za and with previous items it takes them about 7 days to ship/ready for pickup for items they have in stock. This is why I prefer shop to add lead time before processing and shipping. Meaning, 1-3 days to get the stock when it is instock with our supplier and then another 1-3 days for processing and shipping. However, this means nothing when they don't update their system which is suppose to tell you where in the process they actually are. But this is kinda true for most of not all online shopping in South Africa. Who has this down to a simple and fast process?

I've always gotten a rather fast response from Pc Link Computers <[email protected]>. I email them yesterday at about 8:00am and got an email at 8:30am. Otherwise credit reversal? I see FNB messaged me yesterday about my purchase with them as it falls under a 30 day buyers protection. Well, according to FNB anyways.

Lets see my buddy been waitign 3 months for refund from pclinkshop, they turning into the new evetech lol
Queue GoG (good old games) taking 3+ months to do a simple refund on CyberPunk. I've stopped shopping with them after that event. Besides, doesn't he have other options like getting their payment provider, hosting provider, the bank etc involved?
