The PC Build Thread

I deleted my comment because I saw some of the prices, like 22k etc, was looking in the wrong section entirely. I see now a build is about 470 odd plus all the components.

I'm going to do this. I don't want to even risk putting it together. I did my last pc and although it worked, the inside looked like the dogs breakfast. Also anything can go wrong with static etc.
Actually you'd need a loooooooot of static to blow most modern components. In fact I'm going to say the static thing is more likely a hold over from days yonder, as I've never toasted a PC part and I've had some static.

Anybody know if I use use usb-c to displayport cable of my monitor will run freesync? Nvidia does not do freesync over hdmi :(

Yeah, seems you need the correct bidirectional cable that supports it. Good luck.
Yeha I think can live without freesync for now lol

Really happy woth dell 27 inch which is hooked up to laptop now, support 155hz via displayport but only 144 via hdmi.

I got this one recently - seems very popular (good performance for the price).

Mushkin MKNSSDPE500GB-D8 Pilot-E 500GB

Wootware

One more thing - I see you are going with the i5-12400F - for the same price, you can get the non-F from Evetech. At least if your GPU gives issues, you can still use the onboard graphics.

Just on that SSD. The one user reviewer said:
Currently using this as a boot drive, which took about half a day of online troubleshooting to setup correctly, so I'd recommend researching how to setup an NVMe SSD for your system.

Are there any gotchas I need to know of about using one of these ssd's?

Nope, it was totally straight forward for me... Just installed the drive on the motherboard, then used a USB stick with the Win10 install, powered up, and installed the OS.

Would it be worth buying a 2hnd RTX 2070 Super for R6500?
The secondhand market is tanking!

Where would he get one for that price?
I pick up then R6200 have done so before :)

I normally pick up sell them R6600/6700 for quick sales.

Might get one tomorow again for R6200, but guy deciding if keeping or selling me 2060 instead
